Afterwards, while Oliver is shaving, he discovers that Dinah is taking birth control pills, but says nothing. Instead, he suggests that they visit the zoo. Elsewhere, on a tropical island, the cabin in which Shado is sleeping gets raided by a team of Yakuza agents. At the zoo, Oliver and Dinah walk past several instances of children having fun. Oliver is visibly pleased, but Dinah's mood changes. Oliver and Dinah easily subdue the agents, and Osborne asks to speak to Oliver in private while Eddie and Dinah spar. Osborne reveals that a map, leading to a World War II era treasure buried in the Philippines, has been discovered. The map has gone missing, however, and the Japanese Yakuza has bought up several plots of land there - indicating that they have found the map, and are digging up the gold. Osborne believes that despite this, Shado has stolen the map from the Yakuza. He suggests that Oliver should find Shado, get the map, and turn it over to Green Arrow: Here There be Dragons Volume 2 CIA in order to put the treasure into the hands of the Filipino government, as a means of boosting the country's economy. Oliver is skeptical, but Osborne reveals that he will report him to the IRS for tax evasion if he doesn't comply, referring to the large sum of laundered money that Oliver acquired during the Robin Hood Killer case. When asked how Osborne found him, Oliver is surprised to hear that his identity was easy to uncover. He follows the trail, and eventually comes face to face with Shado. Mike Grell really managed to transform Oliver Queen from cheesy Robin-Hood-alike to troubled vigilante. This series was my introduction to Green Arrow back in the day and is still the version I prefer. Recommended to fans of 80s comics and anybody following the evolution of the character. Enter the Green Arrow a few decades back when a hero could be a hero without fighting superhero's to make it interesting. In this second collection of the series of Green Arrow our reluctant and human hero does go to Alaska to stop a drugsring even if it is altogether another product he stops being smuggled. And the second hero lasted 4 installments and is an re-acquaintance with Shado from the initial mini series that relaunched this more mature version of the Green Arrow. And it involves her b Enter the Green Arrow a few decades back when a hero could be a hero without fighting superhero's to make it interesting. And it involves her background, the Yakusa and a treasure map. The story ends rather different than you might expect, Oliver is the grown up man he never wanted to be but he does it in style and courage. I am really enjoying my re-discovering this old series with whom I discovered the Green arrow for the first time. While seeking more intel on organized crime, Ollie heads for Alaska but stumbles on a smuggling ring. Theh he discovers that the past has a way of catching up to you, as an old 'frenemy' of Oliver has figured out who he is, where he lives, and how to draft him into the search for a hidden fortune. Colonel Alec Freeman sat at the commissary table drinking his coffee and watching General Edward Straker eating breakfast and reading the Daily Planet . Freeman had already read the headline article - Miraculous Launch of Prometheus Station Colonists. The photo of the event was indistinct, a tiny blob barely visible on the underside of the launch vehicle. The second photo was more telling - a flying man carrying a dark-haired woman into the fifth floor newsroom of the said Daily Planet . The first article described the attempted sabotage against the Prometheus Station passenger module. Following the destruction of the Messenger Space Shuttle, the Extra- Planetary Research and Development (EPRAD) arm of NASA determined that the passenger module was in danger from sabotage as well. But despite attempts to safeguard the craft, a bomb had been planted on it. The bomb was subsequently discovered and dealt with by a mysterious figure in blue and red that not only took care of the bomb, but launched the module into Earth orbit by literally lifting it there. The second article appeared to be a fluff piece about the 'hero' himself.
