Old Vestry Offices, 22 The Town, -En field EN2 6LT

Tiny polygonal building originally for the beadle. Used as local police station until 1930s and then as offices. Grade II listed.

Directions: From standing facing the building walk to your left, the Market Place soon opens out on your right- hand side. Turn right into it, your destination is straight ahead to the north. Walking time 3 minutes

Parish Church of St Andrew, Market Place, Enfield EN2 6LL

Listed church, much added to, with a recently re- furbished organ which has a fine circa 1750s wood- en organ case. There are many fine memorials. The Church has an eight-bell peal – the oldest bell dates from 1680.

Directions: Carry on heading north, passing to the right of the church. When you reach Church Lane turn right and follow it to the end then turn left into Silver Street. When you reach the traffic lights (crossroads with Parsonage Lane) walk north-west on Parson- age Lane, continuing onto Holtwhites Hill and then turn left onto Perry Mead.

Perry Mead Housing, EN2 8BP

Perry Mead Terrace is an elegant row of predomi- nately 2 storey houses, stepping up to 3 storey on the prominent corner of the site facing Holtwhites Hill which will create a beautiful backdrop to the eastern side of Perry Mead. Turn right onto and continue on until you reach the estate.

This Grade I listed Caroline mansion hall is set in a fine estate. Built as a family home by Sir Nicholas Rainton, Lord Mayor of London 1632-33 and Mas- ter of the Haberdasher’s Guild.

Directions: Return to Forty Hill and turn left. Follow the road round and across the brook. Your next destination on the left. Walking time 12 minutes
