Oxford Open Doors

If you would like to find out more about plans for the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter we will be holding a public exhibition in St Luke’s Chapel during Oxford Open Doors weekend. The exhibition will be open between 10am and 4pm on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 September. Oxford Open Doors is organised by Oxford Preservation Trust in partnership with the . Jericho Health Centre on track for next summer

The existing will be re-housed on the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter site, opposite the entrances to Cardigan Street and Jericho Street. The building is scheduled for completion in May 2012.

The new health centre will accommodate three GP surgeries including those of Dr Bogdanor and Partners, Dr Chivers and Partners and Dr Kearley and Partners. These surgeries will be supported by services including visiting consultants and approved complimentary health services. Nursing services will also be accommodated.

Refurbishment of the Radcliffe Infirmary

The 1770 Radcliffe Infirmary building and 1858 fountain of Triton are currently being renovated. You might have seen the Infirmary surrounded by scaffolding and tarpaulins. Walls and floors are being strengthened prior to redecorating the building.

The building will be occupied by the University’s Humanities Divisional Office, the Faculty of Philosophy and the Philosophy and Theology Libraries. Completion is due next summer. Mathematical Institute

A ground breaking ceremony for the new Mathematical Institute took place on Tuesday 2 August. The building will house more than 500 researchers and support staff, including faculty, research fellows and postgraduate students, as well as 900 undergraduates. It is due to be completed in September 2013.

Somerville College accommodation to open

New student accommodation at Somerville College will be opened in September by Lord Patten. There will be 68 new en-suite rooms for students. For more information contact Amy Crosweller on 270685.

Record of the site’s redevelopment

We are creating a unique record of the redevelopment of the site, thanks to the drawings of University artist in residence Weimin He. The University is obliged to have an arts strategy for major developments. Visit our website to see more images.
