Mathematical Institute

Good progress is being made with the construction of the Mathematical Institute. In order to create two underground storeys for the building 47,000m3 of soil is being removed. This is expected to continue until Christmas. The gravel will be recycled and the clay used locally.

Construction work is taking place between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday, and 8.00am to 1.00pm on a Saturday. There will be some traffic entering the site earlier in the morning in order to avoid causing congestion during rush hour.

Please see http://www.ox.ac.uk/roq/maths.html for further information, including a live camera which overlooks the site, videos demonstrating how the building will develop over time, and fortnightly updates about progress. The building is due to be completed by the end of June 2013 and opened in September 2013.

If any concerns arise during the construction of the building please contact Frank Connolly, Project Leader, on 01322 739445 or Mick Sheehan, Construction Manager on 07771 835591 or email [email protected]
