  • Shakespeare on Film, Video & Stage
William Shakespeare on Film, Video and Stage Titles in bold red font with an asterisk (*) represent the crème de la crème – first choice titles in each category. These are the titles you’ll probably want to explore first. Titles in bold black font are the second- tier – outstanding films that are the next level of artistry and craftsmanship. Once you have experienced the top tier, these are where you should go next. They may not represent the highest achievement in each genre, but they are definitely a cut above the rest. Finally, the titles which are in a regular black font constitute the rest of the films within the genre. I would be the first to admit that some of these may actually be worthy of being “ranked” more highly, but it is a ridiculously subjective matter. An assessment of what has been done so far is vital to considering what the goals of addressing the past might be, what future developments are useful or required, and what kind of mechanisms might successfully be employed in achieving those goals. DEALING WITH THE PAST IN NORTHERN IRELAND Christine Bell* INTRODUCTION The term "transitional justice" has increasingly been used to consider how governments in countries emerging from deeply rooted conflict address the legacy of past human rights viola- tions.' While the term has a pedigree dating back to the Nuremburg Tribunals, three contemporary factors have reinvig- orated interest.2 The first factor is the prevalence of negotiated agreements as the preferred way of resolving internal conflicts. Premised on some degree of compromise between those who were engaged militarily in the conflict, these compromises affect whether and how the past is dealt with. As Huyse notes, the wid- est scope for prosecutions arises in the case of an overthrow or "victory" where virtually no political limits on retributive punish- * Professor Bell is the Chair in Public International Law, Transitional Justice Insti- tute, School of Law, University of Ulster, and a former member of the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission.

Producers Mammoth Screen have based production at The Bottle Yard Studios since Poldark’s first series filmed in 2014. This new eight-part series filmed across Cornwall, Bristol the West Country and London – with the entire production coordinated from Bristol’s Bottle Yard Studios between September 2017 and January 2018. This year more sets than ever before were built in The Bottle Yard’s Tank House 1 and 2 and Studio 2. Construction, prop workshops and an extensive costume department were also situated on site. In three studios, we have 18 sets, including five composite houses - Poldark in Cornwall and London, the Warleggans in Cornwall and London and the Whitworth Vicarage - and this year we were also able to build a period-correct scale replica of the House of Commons. We’re looking forward to what we can build next year!” Poldark series 4: House of Commons set at The Bottle Yard Studios (image © BBC / Mammoth Screen) Fiona Francombe, Site Director of The Bottle Yard Studios, said: “The expansion of Poldark’s operation has made series 4 production a truly exciting period at The Bottle Yard.
