The banquet guest speaker will be John Herdman, head coach of Canada’s women’s national soccer team. Members of the Clan Athletics Hall of Fame will also be honored at the breakfast. Tickets are $225 for an individual and $2,250 for a table of 10. Any Simon Fraser alum who has graduated after 2006 will be offered a “Young Alumni” individual ticket for $75. Proceeds from the breakfast go toward Simon Fraser athletic scholarships, “helping our best student-athletes compete for Canada’s NCAA teams”. Simon Fraser is the only school in Canada in the NCAA and that offers athletes full scholarships. “Our goal is to attract Canada’s best student-athlete and provide them with access to the NCAA athletic experience and a Canadian education,” a school athletic administrator said. Others will be in Edinburg, Harlingen and Corpus Christi. A youth camp for campers entering grades 1-6 is set for June 20 in Javelina Stadium. It will be held from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and registration is at 8 a.m. Four skill development camps for campers entering grades 7-12 are set for June 16 in Cats Stadium in Edinburg, June 17 at Boggus Stadium in Harlingen, June 20 at Javelina Stadium in Kingsville and June 22 at Cabaniss Stadium in Corpus Christi.
