The conditions for the use in France of foreign amateur radio service call sign

Any French or foreign radio "ham" (amateur) living in France is required to comply with French regulations and in particular the decision of the Electronic Communications and Post Regulating Authority N° 2013-1515 of 17 December 2013 who modify the N°2012 - 1241 of 2 October 2012 homologated by the ministerial of 4 March 2014 (Official Gazette of 12 March 2014) and the order of 23 April 2012, modified by the order of 21 September 2000, defining the conditions for obtaining amateur radio service operator certificates. There is no reciprocal agreement in France regarding beginner amateur radio classes.

To request a call-sign for periods exceeding 3 months within the French borders, The petitioner must attach the following items to his or her request: - the copy of " HAREC" class certificate issued by the administration where the examination took place - the license (please specify the validity term of your license issued by the administration of your country and supply this document in French or English). - the proof of being set up in France for more than 3 months according to ministerial order of 23 april 2012, Art. 8 (ex : electricity company or home phone invoice) - a proof of your identity (passport, national identity card)
