Overall there are 11 singles and three doubles matches on the menu. In the opening match, Jan-Lennard Struff takes on No. 5 seed/top Aussie Bernard Tomic for the first time. In the second match, qualifier Mate Pavic of Croatia meets German wild card Alexander Zverev, who comes in a career-high No. 84 in the Emirates ATP Rankings. In the third match on, wild card Tommy Haas makes his ATP World Tour season debut against Mikhail Kukushkin, who won the previous meeting in Miami in March 2009. In the final match, top Pole Jerzy Janowicz looks for his second win this season against German qualifier Dustin Brown. On Mercedes Court, there are two seeds in action as No. 8 Viktor Troicki of Serbia meets 18-year-old Croat Borna Coric, who comes in a career-high No. 41 in the Emirates ATP Rankings. In the next match, No. 7 Dominic Thiem plays German qualifier Mischa Zverev. In a first round doubles match postponed on Monday, Spaniards Feliciano Lopez and Rafael Nadal are fourth on. HAAS RETURNS: Wild card and former World No. 2 Tommy Haas returns to action on the ATP World Tour for the first time this season after undergoing right shoulder surgery on June 17, 2014. The 37-year-old Hamburg native takes on Mikhail Kukushkin of Kazakhstan. Haas last played at Roland Garros a year ago, (l. to Zopp in 1R). Haas has a 7-5 career record at the MercedesCup and he reached the final in 1999 (l. to M. Norman in five sets). Both are in first round action on Tuesday. Coric has jumped from No. 91 at the end of last year to No. 41 while Zverev has climbed from No.137 to No 84. Another teenager, 19-year-old wild card Maximillan Marterer, makes his ATP World Tour debut against Austrian Andreas Haider-Maurer. Marterer has climbed over 100 ranking positions this season (462 on Jan. 12 to 344), winning back-to-back Futures titles on home soil in January. He also was runner-up in another Futures event.
