University of Greenwich How to Find Us: Avery Hill Directions University of Greenwich How to find us: Avery Hill Directions The Avery Hill campus has two sites on either side of Avery Hill Park. The Mansion Site includes teaching facilities, the Winter Garden and the library, and the Southwood Site includes the Student Centre, the Dome and the Student Village and further teaching facilities. The addresses are:- • Southwood Site, Avery Hill Road, Eltham, London SE9 2UG • Manision Site, Bexley Road, Eltham, London SE9 2PQ. The School of Health & Social Care is situated on the SOUTHWOOD SITE in the Mary Seacole Building. Greenwich University Main Switchboard Telephone number: 020 8331 8000 How to get to Avery Hill Campus by road From the M25 take the A2 (Junction 2) towards London. The distance is approximately 10 miles. Leave at Danson Interchange and take the third exit from the roundabout with the Sainsbury's Petrol Station to your left, A210 signposted Blackfen and Eltham. At Blackfen traffic lights continue straight ahead with the Woodman Public House on your right. At the next traffic lights turn left. Mansion site is the first turn on the right and Southwood site is the second turning on the right. The AA offers a free route planning service online at: www.theaa.com . Mansion and Southwood sites are only 5 minutes walk from one another across a very pleasant park. We have provided separate directions because sometimes it rains in south-east London. How to get to Avery Hill Campus by rail Charing Cross, Cannon Street, Waterloo East and London Bridge all offer direct services to Eltham Station and Falconwood Station on the Dartford via Bexleyheath line, and to New Eltham on the Dartford via Sidcup line. From Eltham take a B15, 132, 162 or 286 bus to Mansion site; 162 or 286 bus to Southwood site. From Falconwood take a B15 bus or a 10 minute walk to Mansion site. There is no direct bus to Southwood site. From New Eltham take a 162 bus to Mansion site; B13 or 162 bus to Southwood site or a 15 minute walk. Transport for London offers free online travel information, including rail and bus services. BECKENHAM COPERS COPE & KANGLEY BRIDGE Character The introduction of the railway in mid-Victorian times saw Beckenham develop from a small village into a town on the edge of suburbia. The majority of dwellings in the area are Victorian with some 1940’s and 50’s flats and houses. On the whole houses tend to have fair sized gardens; however, where there are smaller dwellings and flatted developments there is a lack of available off-street parking. During the later part of the 20th century a significant number of Victorian villas were converted or replaced by modern blocks of flats or housing. Ten conservation areas have been established to help preserve and enhance the appearance of the area reflecting the historic character of the area.

Walk in the footsteps of royalty as you pass Eltham Palace and the former hunting grounds of the Tudor monarchs who resided there. The manor of Eltham came into royal possession on the death of the Bishop of Durham in 1311. The parks were enclosed in the 14th Century and in 1364 John II of France yielded himself to voluntary exile here. In 1475 the Great Hall was built on the orders of Edward IV and the moat bridge probably dates from the same period. Between the reigns of Edward IV and Henry VII the Palace reached the peak of its popularity, thereafter Tudor monarchs favoured the palace at Greenwich. Directions. To reach the start of this section from Falconwood Rail Station, turn right on to Rochester Way and follow the road to Oxleas Wood. Enter the wood ahead and follow the path to the Green Chain signpost. Alternatively, take bus route 486 or 89 to Oxleas Wood stop and take the narrow wooded footpath south to reach the Green Chain signpost. From the Green Chain signpost in the middle of Oxleas Wood follow the marker posts south turning left to emerge at the junction of Welling Way and Rochester Way. Cross Rochester Way at the traffic lights and enter Shepherdleas Wood.

The street cleaners are not as regular as needed to keep on top of the problem. Also, dog poo. It's everywhere. You can even smell it in the air some days. This petition is for the council to fund frequent street cleaners in Abbey Wood, if not daily then 2—3 visits weekly at least. Plus, more dog waste bins and bag dispensers on the streets. Abbey Wood doesn't need to be a dumping ground for waste!
