Consider, for example, the Atlantic Education 19 Conference of April 2019. Its theme addressed the question of whether the liberal world order will come to an end. It is difficult to give an answer, even for a well-informed organization like the Netherlands Atlantic Association. It is clear that this question, even when left unanswered, requires elaboration. As many as seven speakers shared their visions on a changing world, a changing role for Europe, America, and China, and the possible end (or not) of the Pax Americana that the world has experienced since the end of the Cold War. The fall of the Berlin Wall, as well as the anniversary of NATO, was covered extensively in special thematic issues of Atlantisch Perspectief .

Interest in our ever-changing world is very apparent, as demonstrated by the great popularity of the public meetings that the Netherlands Atlantic Association organizes. The ‘NATO 70 th anniversary meeting’ was very well attended. During the anniversary year there was also great interest in a conference in March about security in Northern Europe. Speakers like Jamie Shea, former spokesperson for the secretary-general of NATO, and Svein Eljestad of the Norwegian Ministry of Defense, shared profound insights on this subject. Also the panel discussion organized by the Netherlands Atlantic Youth concerning the possible return
