FORT LAUDERDALE -- Construction and maintenance-related lane closures on state highways in Broward County are expected during the week of February 12 through February 19. CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS

1. I-95 from the Golden Glades Interchange in -Dade County to Broward Boulevard in Broward County Traffic Impact: · Up to three northbound lanes of I-95 from the Golden Glades Interchange in Miami-Dade County to Sunrise Boulevard in Broward County will be closed Sunday through Thursday between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. Entrance and exit ramps will be closed as needed in the work zone between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. Detours will be clearly marked and electronic signs will advise drivers in advance.

· Up to three southbound lanes of I-95 from Sunrise Boulevard in Broward County to the Golden Glades Interchange in Miami-Dade County will be closed Sunday through Thursday between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. At least two lanes will remain open at all times. Entrance and exit ramps will be closed as needed in the work zone between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. Detours will be clearly marked and electronic signs will advise drivers in advance. Description: This project will extend the High Occupancy Toll Express lanes from northern Miami-Dade County north 13 miles to Fort Lauderdale. The project includes installing Intelligent Transportation System components; modifying the Ives Dairy Road interchange; bridge widening at specific locations and installing new noise barrier walls at locations between Hollywood Boulevard and Taft Street. Motorists will be detoured to the exit ramp at Miramar Parkway East (Exit 7A), cross over Miramar Parkway and re-enter I-75 northbound using the Miramar Parkway on-ramp. If necessary to complete this work, this closure will also be scheduled from 11 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday. · Segment D (South of Sheridan Street to North of Griffin Road) o One lane in each direction of I-75 from south of Sheridan Street to north of Griffin Road may be closed Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. o One lane in each direction of Sheridan Street at I-75 may be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. o Two lanes in either direction of Sheridan Street at I-75 may be closed Sunday through Friday between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. o Two lanes in either direction of I-75 from south of Sheridan Street to north of Griffin Road may be closed Sunday through Friday between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. o The I-75 southbound exit ramp to Sheridan Street East (Exit 11A) may be closed Sunday through Thursday between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Motorists will be detoured to exit at Sheridan Street West (Exit 11B), continue west on Sheridan Street and make a U-turn at SW 162nd Avenue to go east on Sheridan Street. Alternate routes include Griffin Road and Pines Boulevard. o The I-75 northbound exit ramp to Sheridan Street West (Exit 11B) may be closed Sunday through Thursday between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Motorists will be detoured to the exit at Sheridan Street East (Exit 11A), continue east on Sheridan Street and make a U-turn at Flamingo Road to go west on Sheridan Street. Alternate routes include Griffin Road and Pines Boulevard. · Segment E (North of Griffin Road to I-595) o One eastbound lane of State Road 84 west of Poinciana Way will be closed Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. o One northbound lane of I-75 north of Royal Palm Boulevard will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Description: This 15-mile project will add four tolled managed lanes in the I-75 median from NW 170th Street in northern Miami-Dade County to I-595 in Broward County. The work will be completed in four segments to minimize the impact to the public. This project includes entrance and exit access points to the express lanes; a bridge with a direct connection to 595 Express; integrated Intelligent Transportation System and tolling components; noise barrier walls at various locations and new signage, lighting, drainage and landscaping improvements. I-95 Interchange from Hillsboro Boulevard to SW 10 Street Traffic Impact: th · The I-95 southbound exit ramp to SW 10 Street will be fully closed Sunday through Friday between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Motorists can detour via Hillsboro Boulevard. th · The outside lanes of I-95 southbound between Hillsboro Boulevard and SW 10 Street will be closed Sunday through Friday with the first lane closing at 9 p.m., the second lane closing at 10 p.m. and the third lane, if necessary, closing at 12:30 a.m. until 5 a.m. th · Two westbound lanes of SW 10 Street at I-95 will be closed Sunday through Friday between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Description: This project consists of widening southbound I-95 to add an auxiliary lane from the Hillsboro Boulevard entrance ramp to the SW 10th Street exit ramp, widening the existing southbound I-95 exit ramp to SW 10th Street, addition of a free flow right turn lane to westbound SW 10th Street, widening of westbound SW 10th Street to add an acceleration lane, utility relocation, milling and resurfacing, bridge widening, installation of barrier walls, curbs, sidewalks, guardrail, drainage, overhead signs, signing and pavement markings, signals, lighting, and retaining walls. 4. Bridges of the Isles and Sunrise Key Bridges Replacement in Fort Lauderdale Traffic Impact: · One lane of the Isle of Venice Bridge, Royal Palm Drive Bridge and Sunrise Key Boulevard Bridge will be closed through March 31. Traffic signals and flaggers will assist motorists through the work zone. · One lane of the Nurmi Drive Bridge and the Fiesta Way Bridge will be closed daily between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. through March 31. A flag crew will assist motorists through the work zone. · The westbound right lane of between Royal Palm Drive and Isle of Venice Drive will be closed through Thursday, March 31. There will be no construction-related lane closures during the following holidays and special events: Sunday, February 14 for A1A Marathon; Saturday, February 20 for Dolphins Cancer Challenge; Saturday, March 12 for St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival; Sunday, March 13 for Shamrock Run; Saturday, April 2 and Sunday, April 3 for Las Olas Art Fair; Friday, April 15 through Sunday, April 17 for Tortuga Music Festival; Saturday, May 7 and Sunday, May 8 for Lauderdale Air Show; Saturday, May 28 for Great American Beach Party; Monday, July 4 for Independence Day Celebration. · Westbound traffic on Las Olas Boulevard between Isle of Venice and Royal Palm Drive may be shifted into one eastbound lane Sunday, February 14 through Friday, February 19 between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. for roadway paving on Las Olas Boulevard, Isle of Venice, and Royal Palm Drive. Flaggers will be at each end of the traffic shift and at the cross streets to assist the traveling public through the work zone area during this lane closure. Traffic on San Marco Drive, Coral Way, and Royal Plaza Drive can only turn right onto eastbound Las Olas Boulevard. Motorists wishing to travel westbound will be detoured to turn right at Sunset Drive, left at Riviera Isle Drive / SE 25th Street and left to westbound Las Olas Boulevard. One lane in each direction will remain open to motorists. Description: Project improvements include the demolition and replacement of the five low level bridges off Las Olas Boulevard to Royal Palm Drive, Nurmi Drive, Fiesta Way and Isle of Venice and the low level Sunrise Key Bridge off NE 6th Court. 5. CSX Bridge Replacement over the South Fork of the New River in Fort Lauderdale Traffic Impact: · Outside shoulder of the eastbound I-595 exit ramp to northbound I-95 is closed through summer 2016. Description: Project improvements include replacing the existing South Florida Rail Corridor CSX Railroad rolling lift bridge just west of I-95 over the south fork of the New River in Fort Lauderdale. Andrews Avenue Extension Reconstruction in Pompano Beach Traffic Impact: th · One lane in each direction of Copans Road between NW 15 Avenue and the CSX Railway will be closed intermittently Monday, February 15 through Sunday, February 21 between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. and between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. th · One lane in each direction of Andrews Avenue between NW 18 Street and Copans Road will be closed Monday, February 15 through Sunday, February 21 between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. · One lane in each direction of Andrews Avenue between Copans Road and Park Central Boulevard will be closed Monday, February 15 through Sunday, February 21 between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. and between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. Description: Project improvements include reconstructing Andrews Avenue Extension from NW 18th Street to north of Copans Road, widening and repaving Andrews Avenue Extension within the project limits, changing roadway access on Andrews Avenue Extension, restriping Andrews Avenue Extension within the project limits, installing new overhead signal arms, installing new drainage, upgrading curb and ramps to ADA requirements, constructing and repairing sidewalks, installing new lighting, installing new signals at intersections within the project limits, and installing new signs. Sunrise Boulevard Bridge over the Middle River Traffic Impact: · The sidewalk along the north side of the Sunrise Boulevard Middle River Bridge between NE 20th Avenue and Middle River Drive is closed through summer 2016. Pedestrians can use the sidewalk along the north side of the temporary bridge or the south side of the new bridge. · One of the two left turn lanes from northbound Middle River Drive to westbound Sunrise Boulevard is closed through summer 2016. · One westbound lane of Sunrise Boulevard between Middle River Drive and NE 20th Avenue is closed through summer 2016. Westbound traffic will travel in two lanes on the temporary bridge for the duration of the construction project. th · Left turns from westbound Sunrise Boulevard to southbound NE 20 Avenue are permitted from the left westbound lane throughout the duration of construction. · One eastbound lane of Sunrise Boulevard between US 1 and Middle River Drive is closed through summer 2016. Eastbound traffic will travel in two lanes on the south side of the new bridge through summer 2016. th · The eastbound inside lane of Sunrise Boulevard between NE 20 Avenue and Middle River Drive will be closed Sunday night and Monday night between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. for drainage work. · The right turn lane from eastbound Sunrise Boulevard to southbound Middle River Drive will be closed Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for the construction of the foundation for a new traffic signal. Right turns will be permitted from the through lane. · The right turn lane from northbound Middle River Drive to eastbound Sunrise Boulevard will be closed Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for the construction of the foundation for a new traffic signal. Right turns will be permitted from the left turn lane. · The sidewalk on the south side of Sunrise Boulevard at Middle River Drive will be intermittently closed Monday through Thursday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for utility work. Pedestrians will have to cross to the sidewalk on the north side of Sunrise Boulevard at NE 20th Avenue and Bayview Drive. Description: Project improvements include replacing the replacing the Sunrise Boulevard Bridge over the Middle River, increasing the bridge clearance by approximately 4 feet, relocating utilities, installing new lighting, signalization, and pavement markings. Countywide Mast Arm Painting Project Traffic Impact: th One lane in each direction of the 17 Street Causeway at Eisenhower Boulevard · and at SE 23rd Avenue / Harbor Inlet Drive will be closed intermittently Sunday through Friday between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Description: Project improvements include removal of existing paint coating and new application of paint on mast arms throughout the county. SR 7 / US 441 Improvements from SW 25 Street to Fillmore Street in West Park, Miramar and Hollywood Traffic Impact: · One of the two left turn lanes from northbound SR 7 to westbound Hollywood Boulevard is closed through March. · One of the two left turn lanes from southbound SR 7 to eastbound Hollywood Boulevard is closed through March. st · One lane in each direction of Hollywood Boulevard between 61 Terrace and 59th Avenue is closed through March. · One of the two left turn lanes from eastbound Hollywood Boulevard to northbound SR 7 is closed through March. · One of the two left turn lanes from westbound Hollywood Boulevard to southbound SR 7 is closed through March. · Eastbound traffic on Hollywood Boulevard at SR 7 is shifted north to the inside lanes and will remain in this configuration through March. Two lanes will be maintained in each direction. The left turn lane to northbound SR 7 / US 441 will not be affected. Motorists may turn right to southbound SR 7 / US 441 from the right lane. · Right turn lane from northbound SR 7 to eastbound Hollywood Boulevard is closed through March. Right turns are permitted from the outside through lane. · One lane in each direction of SR 7 / US 441 at the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard will be closed as needed through March. · One lane in each direction of Hollywood Boulevard at SR 7 / US 441 will be closed as needed through March. · Traffic on SR 7 / US 441 from north of Washington Street to Fillmore Street is shifted east onto the newly-paved roadway. Two lanes in each direction will be maintained with one dedicated left-turn lane from each direction of SR 7 / US 441 to Hollywood Boulevard. · Fillmore Street, Polk Street or Duval Street will be closed as needed at the SR 7 / US 441 intersection Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. through March 4. Only one street will be closed at a time. Motorists should use an alternate route during the closures. Description: The improvements under this contract include adding one through lane in each direction for a total of six lanes with left turn lanes separated by raised medians; constructing new storm sewer system and retention ponds; installing new water and sewer lines; constructing bus bays at current bus stop locations; constructing curbs and gutters; adding or replacing sidewalks with ADA compliant ramps on both sides of the road; upgrading existing signalized intersections with mast arms and adding pedestrian countdown timers at Pembroke Road, Washington Street, and Hollywood Boulevard; improving street lighting along the corridor by installing new lighting system along the west side of SR 7 / US 441; adding Intelligent Transportation System components including digital message signs and traffic monitoring cameras, and resurfacing the roadway. SR 7 / US 441 Improvements Project from Fillmore Street to south of Stirling Road in Hollywood Traffic Impact: · The right turn lane of eastbound Johnson Street at SR 7 will be closed Sunday through Thursday between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. The through lane will serve as a temporary shared-use lane for through traffic and right turns. · The right turn lane of westbound Johnson Street at SR 7 will be closed Sunday through Thursday between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. The through lane will serve as a temporary shared-use lane for through traffic and right turns. · The right turn lane of eastbound Sheridan Street at SR 7 will be closed Sunday through Thursday between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. The through lane will serve as a temporary shared-use lane for through traffic and right turns. · The right turn lane of westbound Sheridan Street at SR 7 will be closed Sunday through Thursday between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. The through lane will serve as a temporary shared-use lane for through traffic and right turns. · The right turn lane of eastbound Taft Street at SR 7 will be closed Sunday through Thursday between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. The through lane will serve as a temporary shared-use lane for through traffic and right turns. · The right turn lane of westbound Taft Street at SR 7 will be closed Sunday through Thursday between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. The through lane will serve as a temporary shared-use lane for through traffic and right turns. · The outside lane of westbound Sheridan Street at SR 7 will be closed Sunday through Thursday between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. · The left turn lane from westbound Sheridan Street to southbound SR 7 will be partially closed Sunday through Thursday between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. · The outside lane of eastbound Sheridan Street at SR 7 will be closed Sunday through Thursday between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Description: Project improvements include adding one through lane in each direction for a total of six lanes with left turn lanes separated by raised medians; constructing new storm sewer system and retention ponds; installing new water and sewer lines; constructing bus bays at current bus stop locations; constructing curbs and gutters; adding or replacing sidewalks with ADA compliant ramps on both sides of the road; upgrading existing signalized intersections with mast arms and add pedestrian countdown timers at Johnson Street, Taft Street, and Sheridan Street; installing new signalized intersection and pedestrian countdown timers at Fillmore Street; improving street lighting along the corridor by installing new lighting system along the west side of SR 7/US 441; adding Intelligent Transportation System components including digital message signs and traffic monitoring cameras, and resurfacing the roadway. 11. State Road A1A Bridge Rehabilitation Project over the Hillsboro Inlet in Hillsboro Beach Traffic Impact: · North Riverside Drive underneath the bridge is closed for the duration of construction. · The bridge is closed overnight to navigation between 7:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. for the duration of the project. Mariners may request an opening during this time by providing a four-hour advance notice to the bridge tender or by calling (954) 943-1847. · The vertical clearance of the bridge will be reduced by 2 feet for the duration of the project. · The north and south side channels will be closed to navigation for the duration of the project because of on-going work in the channels. · One lane of the bridge may be closed overnight between 7:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. as needed. Flag crews will direct motorists across the bridge. Description: The improvements under this contract include removing the existing concrete and replacing the concrete deck; constructing a new sidewalk and pedestrian railing along the south side of the bridge; constructing new traffic railings along both sides of the bridge; upgrading the fender system; restoring existing bridge tender house; installing decorative statue and accent lighting, and removing existing paint with blasting process and re-painting the bridge. 12. Andrews Avenue Reconstruction / Realignment Project in Pompano Beach Traffic Impact: · All lanes are open through Friday, February 19. Description: The improvements under this contract include widening Andrews Avenue from SW 3rd Street to Atlantic Boulevard from a two-lane undivided roadway to a four-lane roadway with raised medians, installing bike lanes and sidewalks within the project limits, upgrading the drainage system with curb inlets and pipes that will carry water to ponds where it will be treated before being discharged to the Old Pompano Canal, installing Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) components including traffic monitoring cameras that use video detection, installing pedestrian countdown timers and internally illuminated directional signs at the Atlantic Boulevard and SW 3rd Street intersections, installing new mast arms and traffic signals at the Atlantic Boulevard and SW 3rd Street intersections, and installing new pavement markings, signing, lighting, and landscaping. 13. Broward County Mobility Project Traffic Impact: · One lane in each direction of Nob Hill Road between State Road 84 and Broward Boulevard in Plantation will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for road widening. · Up to two lanes in each direction of Pine Island Road between State Road 84 and Broward Boulevard will be closed Sunday through Friday between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. for resurfacing. Description: The improvements under this contract include constructing sidewalks, multi-use pedestrian paths, and bicycle lanes along 46 roadways in Broward County within Hollywood, Pembroke Pines, Davie, Plantation, Deerfield Beach, Pompano Beach, Lauderhill, Oakland Park, Lauderdale Lakes, and Fort Lauderdale.
