The Italian Embassy/Consulate must put its stamp on the IED certifi cate of enrolment and give one copy back to the applicant. This certifi cate with the stamp (or a copy of it) is necessary to obtain the permit to stay in Italy

Rome is not the mere political centre of Italy: it is, above all, the heart of our culture, being the most part of the Italian artistic heritage located here. And culture doesn’t mean only monuments and museums, but also cinema, music and fashion. Here in Rome you will fi nd such a wide range of fashion shops that you’ll only be spoilt for choice. Most of the best known fashionable shops are located in the centre of Rome along Via del Corso. Getting off the Metro at Piazza di Spagna, you can go APPENDIX towards Via Condotti or Via Frattina where you’ll fi nd shops as Fendi, Gucci, Prada, Facsimile of Permit of Stay application form Versace and many others. Another area full of shops is the one around Piazza Risor- gimento: from this square start Via Cola di rienzo e via Ottaviano, characterized by a wide choice of good quality shops, less expensive than those located in Via del Corso. You can also fi nd middling quality shops in Viale Libia and Viale Eritrea (the latter is a continuation of the fi rst). Rome offers also a large number of cheaper shops spread all over the city: we suggest you, anyway, to have a look at Piazza Bologna, Via Tiburtina and Via Appia, all easy reachable from the IED. Finally, it’s worth going to Via Sannio (permanent) and Porta Portese (only on Sunday mornings), the two most popular street-markets of Rome, where you can fi nd extremely cheap and also second-hand goods.
