February 2018 BURY ST EDMUNDS RESPOND INSPECTOR MATT DEE The SNT have been working in partnership with the NRT and the local community in developing intelligence, grown from concerns around ASB and drug dealing at an address on the Nowton Estate. A drugs warrant was executed at the location where by a quantity of Class A drugs were recovered and 3 arrests made. All 3 persons have been released under investigation. During this time one of these males was further detained for a search, believed to be in possession of Class A drugs, transporting drugs into Bury via train. The male was found to have 47 wraps on heroin in his possession. He is now in prison awaiting trial. MAKING YOUR COMMUNITY SAFER The SNT have had a busy month getting out into the community to give a number of talks and advice surgeries. PCSO Michelle Crompton, our vulnerable communities Spoc has given talks to audiences at the Quaker meeting House, the Bury Deaf Association and at Davers Court Residential Home covering topics including fraud awareness, on-line safety and mate crime. PCSO Crompton says "I really enjoy giving these talks. The audience is always so receptive and engaging. When I first started visiting some of these vulnerable groups, they were a little bit wary of my uniform, but now they are FUTURE EVENTS so eager to ask questions and raise any concerns with me.
