88 Please mention CHATTERBOX PROGRAM when dealing with advertisers The Chatterbox and the School for the Deaf

We are grateful to everyone who has taken a seat for this our fourth "Chatterbox Revue." Each year as a result of our effort_s we are able to materially assist one of Rochester's charitable institutions. This year your help will make possible several necessary improvements for the comfort and education of the children at the Rochester School for the Deaf. The Chatterbox Club was started four years ago by Mrs. Charles W. Weis, Jr., who, with other young women, felt the need of a club to corre· spond to the Junior Leagues in other progressive cities. The Club grew to its present size which numbers one hundred and forty members and a waiting list. The new club house is situated at 252 Alexander Street and has been very attractively decorated by a committee of members. Luncheon is served daily and each Tuesday, club day, there is a large attendance. Many speakers of note have address~d the Chatterbox at these meetings. The Rochester School for the Deaf was founded fifty years ago by Dr. and Mrs. Z. F. Westervelt under a private corporation of which Hon. E. Darwin Smith was president; Mr. Edward P. Hart, secretary, and Mr. Gilman H. Perkins, treasurer. At present there are about 200 children living at the school. We feel that our. interest in this institution is particularly justi fied inasmuch as this is the first benefit given for these so heavily handi capped little children.
