Dear fellow fiddling fans:

I was pleased and surprised when Calvin Vollrath asked me to be this year’s Honorary Patron of the Canadian Grand Masters Fiddling Competton; I said “yes” very quickly, because as everybody in our business knows, when Calvin asks you to do something, there’s only one answer.

It’s been my pleasure and honour to enjoy a tuneful liaison with Calvin and with other outstanding fiddlers over the course of the past fify years. The joyful lif that is found in much of the music we’ve recorded in that tme comes from those brilliant musicians, both professional and amateur.

I’m very much looking forward to hearing all of the compettors in this year’s competton and to enjoying the company of fellow musicians and fellow audience members.

Best wishes for another successful competton! Sincerely, Tommy Banks
