The project road starts from design Chainage 0.000 ( Existing Km 5.200) & ending at Design Chainage 88.476 ( Existing Km 93.826) and total design length 88.476 kms of the proposed project road .This road is major connection link between Meerut and city of Haryana. The existing length of project road is 93.826 km and design length of project road is 88.476 which includes the common portion of Shamli bypass proposed by UPSHA (which is a part of road) of length 4.50km.The new NH number of the project section is (NH-709A).

The road traverses through the district of Meerut, Baghpat, and Shamli in the State of Uttar Pradesh..The proposed project section road stretch covered the capacity to meet the traffic demand of the area as the existing road leads to various tourist/religious destinations in Meerut, Baghpat,Muzaffarnagar and Shamli Districts in the State of Uttar Pradesh. In order to widening and up gradation will be performed on adjoining to the existing four laning road only .the road side, Upper Ganga Canal & River Yammuna side plantation along the project road which is declared as Protected Forest Land in the districts Meerut & Shamli the stretch of Meerut falls from existing km 5.200 to km 15.000 and the stretch of Shamli falls from existing km 93.241 to km 93.431 and Km 93.631 to km 93.826 which is decalared Protected Forest Land will be impacted due to the proposed

widening work. No other alternative exist for proposed widening.
