According to reports, only Richard Person III was related to Shirae Bryant, the mother of the two year old that Antonio Mosely loved and Mosely with Shirae and daughter believed was his daughter. His mother said that his entire focus in life was Shirae and Angel so, when he was unemployed, he took care of their daughter as her mother worked. The mother was totally shocked when she was told by others that it was possible that someone else is the father but Tonio did not believe the sto- ries and continued to express his love for both, even though his name is not on the baby’s birth certificate. For this reason, it would have never crossed his mind that Shirae’s cousin, Person and three of his friends, would come to kill him. Tonio admitted that he and Shirae had some disagreements but did not feel that he had abused her. Apparently, Richard Person did not feel the same way when he got to the apartment with Governor Rick Scott, who is scheduled to be among the opening day his three friends and shot Mosely as he walked away. primetime speakers at the Republican National Convention continues to Three of the men involved in the shooting murder of Antonio were not related to Shirae as prepare for the Tropical Storm Isaac that is headed towards Tampa Bay. Superheroes are characters from the comic books who are portrayed to have special abil- ities to perform superhuman feats. They are also people with special skills and abilities who are shown on screen as the saviors for the good to combat the sinister forces of evil. In his latest movie role as Hale Caesar in “The Expendables 2,” actor Terry Crews has firmly established himself as a superhero, extending from his role in the first “Expendables” movie. After retiring from the NFL as a defensive back, Crews became a mainstay on TV and in movies.

When asked to describe the similarity of his experiences with the NBC reality show “Stars Earn Strips” and making “The Expendables 2,” crew’s breaks it down saying, “The thing with “Stars Earn Strips” as opposed to “The Expendables” is that you do have blanks. However, the explosions are real explosions. Fire is fire so be careful, that’s not CGI. That wave of heat is real! On the TV show they teamed us up with actual special ops and it made me realize how true the Expendable’s action is to real life. Whereas in movies you have the superheroes who jump, fly, have shields and all this other stuff. I had an op, that they would leave him in Afghanistan for six weeks. He would find people, train them, go on missions, free people out of prison, break them out then radio in and they come get him out of get that one moment of action —- you’re pretty good.” nowhere. That’s an expendable’s mission. That’s what we were doing at the beginning of the movie. Exactly what was happening at the beginning of the movie is what our special ops Crews’ weapon in both Expendable movies was the rare AA-12 shotgun which is an auto- of the American military do everyday. It actually became a character of itself in both movies. Crew’s laughs that of all the weapons available to him, Schwarzenegger had to In terms of the weapons training that the actors receive before shooting “The insist on the AA-12. Luckily there were two on set because Crews was going to give up his. So it was about the look, the camera, where you want it and is not computerized, high tech, superhero schtick but is old fashion, all of that stuff. But when you’re talking about a real live operation where it has to be in real life, boots on the ground, shooting and fighting As Crews puts it, “When you look at sync or someone else is going to get hurt. The people that you are with, if you don’t know the superhero movies, there’s nobody who looks like we do. I got my body from hitting guys what you are doing, that’s a total different thing. Whereas it is a lot more containing on a at 20 mph on a football field. There’s only one way to get it. Now I love comic books and movie set. There are so many people to tell you exactly how to hold it, what to do; then you the whole thing but they put the muscles on then they rip them off. There’s a place for that but I think there’s a place for us. America loves a come back!

Florida Star Reading Grandmother Turns Sickness Into Personal Success With Jewelry Line Launch

By ARTHIA NIXON Florida/Georgia Star

When Maude Penny Cuffe moved in with her military son to help care for her young grandsons, the bubbly grandmother had to slow things down when her lupus kicked in with painful vengeance. Instead of considering it a tragedy, the former cos- metologist turned it into triumph and set off to continue her love of fashion. Instead of simply wearing it, she decided to design it. “I’ve had lupus since 1999,” she told our paper. “It’s a chronic inflammatory disease that occurs when your immune system attacks your own tissues and organs. There is a lot of pain, especially in your joints and I sometimes find myself confined to a bed for days at a time. When I do try to stand, I can’t do it for but a moment. But I still make it a priority to get up and celebrate life. I take the iPad with me in my bed and then of course when you have a set of twins and another child running around the house with parents deployed overseas, you have an extra reason to push and get up to do something.” With not much to do from her bed, three years ago Cuffe, who admits to being an avid Florida Star reader in print and on Facebook, decided to take up a new Designs by Penzania, Maude Penny Cuffe turned her hobby into an hobby – jewelry making and design. Its sort of that extra confidence I think we all need to be reminded that we can be in control of our lives even if our bodies want to control us as it relates to health issues.” And with my own $25 piece from Designs by Penzania, I can assure you that wearing one of her original designs not only gives your outfit that extra wow, but it also gives you an extra smile knowing that the hands who made the pieces is some- one who continues to fight through her pain. “NATURAL NOT NAPPY”: Brunswick Curlfriends Unite At Social

By ARTHIA NIXON Florida/Georgia Star

The natural hair divas of Brunswick and nearby counties united last weekend when the Curlfriends girlfriends hosted a Chat and Chew social at the Corner Café. Led by local chapter president Melissa Brown Wright (pictured right), the Curlfriends got together to embrace their choice of wearing their hair in natural styles and traded maintenance secrets. “I am so excited and it was a lovely event!” beamed Brown Wright who was over- whelmed with the response from the group. “I actually started the local chapter of Curlfriends for my own purposes. I had decided to go natural and I wasn’t sure if it was the right decision for me. I was getting frustrated and had spent a lot of time going over blogs and thought maybe I ought to just go on Facebook and meet up with local women to see what they could tell me about their natural journeys. So in May, we had the first meeting and we agreed to this second In August. We were so thrilled to have nearly 80 RSVP’s and some 40 attendees.” With even more ladies anticipating the next meeting in October, Brown Wright said that she was thrilled that attendees from neighboring counties reveled in the fact that they no longer had to travel all the way to Atlanta for similar meetings. She added that now, they all don’t feel as if they are going though the natural hair journey alone. “It’s about being natural not nappy,” she noted. “From childhood, we are exposed to the debates of when our hair should be relaxed and we go through a lifetime of damaging it. We don’t have a problem with women braiding, locking, twisting or whatever. We simply want them to refrain from putting chemicals in their hair.” PAGE B-4 THE STAR AUGUST 25, 2012

Wednesday at Mayport was a military moment with the First Lady, wife of our Commander and Chief, Barack Obama. Mrs. Obama was thankful and proud to announce the success of the program, which began in April 2011 with 2 companies and now has grown to 2000 companies across the country having employed or trained 125,000 military veterans. These companies have now pledged to hire a quarter of a million more veterans of that number, 50,000 include military spouses. Mrs. Obama shared with military families her commitment to support legislation that would allow nurses, doctors, real estate, teacher, and other professionals to be able to use their professional licenses in the states their families relocate to. Presently 26 states adopted transfer professional license or where licensed service providers can easily attain certification in the states where they relocate to due to transfers of their military spouses. S T U D E N T S PR - 2 THE STAR AUGUST 25, 2012 MONEY: Seven Tips for Establishing Good Credit

(StatePoint) Ally Wallet Wise, a financial ed- ucation program from Ally Financial, offers some tips on taking better control of your fi- nances and personal credit: 1. Make sure you know what is in- cluded in your credit report. It is important to review your credit report at least once per year to ensure there aren’t any mistakes and you have not been the victim of identity theft. Your credit report contains information about you and your payment history. It’s collected and organized by a credit reporting agency and is available to those who are considering granting you credit. Your credit score is a number that reflects the information found in your credit report. You can obtain a free copy of your credit report once every 12 months by visit- ing www.AnnualCreditReport.com 2. Create a budget and stick to it. Understand needs versus wants and avoid using credit to buy things you cannot afford. 3. Pay your bills on time. Your pay- ment history is one of the most important fac- tors when determining your credit score. You are usually considered a good credit risk if you have a history of paying your bills on time. 4. Have a small amount of total debt. Make sure your total debt is not too large. If a large portion of your income each month is already committed to paying off other credit, creditors may be hesitant to extend you addi- tional credit. 5. Don’t have a lot of open credit. Excess open credit can result from having too many credit cards. While you may think hav- ing a lot of credit cards with high limits is a sign that you have good credit, creditors may look at your available credit as being a poten- tial debt. In other words, creditors may be- lieve too much open credit may lead you to overextend yourself in the future. 6. Only use a small amount of your total available credit. Creditors like to see that you use your credit with restraint – using some but not “maxing out” your cards. 7. Showcase that you are stable and responsible. Creditors look for signs of sta- bility and responsibility. Numerous changes in address and/or employment may hurt your rating.
