Gilbert Christian High School is a four-year college prep, private Christian school serving students in ninth through twelfth grades. The school was founded in 1996 under the name Surrey Garden Christian School. In June 2009 the name of the school changed to Gilbert Christian Schools (GCS) to better reflect the communities served. GCS is accredited by AdvancED and Association of Christian Schools International(ACSI) and is a member of the Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA). In 2012, we welcomed our first National Honor Society students.

COMMUNITY

Gilbert Christian Schools (GCS) is a private school featuring three locations within a 5-mile radius of each other: the elementary/middle school Agritopia Campus located NW of Higley/Ray; the elementary/ High School Principal: Mark Lovelady middle school Greenfield Campus located SE of Greenfield/Germann; High School Vice Principal of Student Affairs: Matt Johnson and the High School Campus located NE of Higley/Ray. GCS serves the High School Vice Principal of educational needs of families in its immediate and local communities. The Academic Affairs: Dr. Robert McCollum student body is culturally diverse, including international students from Korea, China, Taiwan, and Vietnam. Gilbert Christian High School offers a rigorous academic program that is organized on a modified school year schedule. Seven credits per year facebook.com/gilbertchristianschools is the expected course load for each student. Dual enrollment courses are offered in Pre-Calculus, Calculus I, II, and III, Statistics, World Religions (Senior Bible), College U.S. History, English 101 & 102, British Literature, Spanish III and IV, College Physics, College Biology Concepts, and US Government.

GRADING & RANK

Gilbert Christian High School offers both weighted and non-weighted classes. We calculate class rank solely for valedictorian and salutatorian purposes. GPA is computed using the points to the right. Beginning with Grade 9, all subjects, whether passed or failed, are included in the computation. A minimum of 28 credits is required. Grades are recorded GCS POINT SCALE on the transcript, and Grade Point Average is computed at the end of the A - Excellent 90-100 4.0 (5.0) semesters in January and May.
