1885 Formation of the Indian National Congress
1899 - 1905 Lord Curzon, the Viceroy of India Partition of Bengal Presidency by Lord Curzon through a royal Proclamation, reducing the old province of Bengal in 16 October 1905 size by creating East Bengal and Assam out of rest of Bengal th The formal proclamation of the Swadeshi Movement was 7 August 1905 made in a meeting held at the Calcutta Town Hall Movement confined to Bengal and launched as a 1905-1909 protest movement The Indian National Congress under Dadabhai Naoroji Dec. 1906 adopted ‘Swaraj’ (Self-govt) as the goal of Indian people at Calcutta 1907 Bipin Chandra Pal tour in Andhra and Madras
Countrywide spread of movement and launching of 1909-1910 anti-colonical movement The Vandemataram and Swadeshi movement began to lose 1910 its momentum Swadeshi movement merged with revolutionary 1910-1911 terrorist movement of first phase and led to the foundation of numerous secret associations.
