• Beginning in April of 2015, a Board-appointed community Bond Committee Executive Summary Pg 1 considered plans for a May 3, 2016 bond proposal election for Lansing School Introduction and Pg 2 District voters. Cost Review • The district’s Bond Committee recommended a bold and innovative plan to the Lansing Pathway Pgs 3-4 Board of Education which was unanimously approved on October 15, 2015. The proposal includes: Promise Pg 5 ◦◦ A 21st century educational plan called the Lansing Pathway Promise. Eastern IB/ Bio-technology ◦◦ A potential $120 million investment in the Lansing Schools. ◦◦ Under the proposal approved unanimously by the Board of Education, Eastern Campus Pg 6 the district seeks to “roll over” its expiring sinking fund millage of 1.5 and Fields mills, and is asking for a modest increase of .75 mills, for a total levy of Everett VPA Pg 7 2.25 mills. Sexton STEM Pg 8 ◦◦ Currently, the millage rate for the Lansing School District is the lowest in the Capital region. Seeking an additional .75 mills to the current sinking Fairview Academy Pg 9 fund will still ensure our millage rate remains among the lowest in the Capital region, while improving the district’s infrastructure and readying Rich VPA Pg 10 it for direct alignment with the Lansing Pathway Promise. Post Oak IB Pg 11 • For a home with a taxable value of $50,000 in the Lansing School District, the Bond Project Pg 12 modest increase would equate to only an additional $37.50 per year, or roughly Recommendations $3 per month – the equivalent of only one dime a day. Key Dates Pg 13 • There would be much needed technology and security upgrades throughout the Thank You Pg 14 district as well as new furniture in every classroom. • More importantly, the plan is designed to align with a proposed Lansing Pathway Promise that would better prepare students for career and college readiness, as Icon Key follows:

◦◦ Lansing Eastern High School: International Baccalaureate, Chinese language immersion, and Bio-technology.

◦◦ Lansing Everett High School: New Tech High and Visual/Performing Arts. ◦◦ Lansing Sexton High School: STEM/STEAM and Spanish immersion. Remodel Addition/ ◦◦ Each elementary, middle years, and K-8 schools would prepare students New Build for this educational programming at the high school level.
