Minutes of the Meeting of the Nunney Parish Council held at Dallimore Mead Hall on Monday 7th January 2019 at 7.30pm.

Present: Cllrs Lisa Ramsay (Chairman), Henry Pomeroy, Lara Tatam, Cliff Garrod, Pia McGee, Ken Lloyd, Richard Seccombe

In attendance: Angela Pearce (Parish Clerk).

Report District Councillors Cllr Van Dyke updated the Council on the Saxon Vale in , Council is taking over the gritting this year from and investing money into The Citizen Advice Beau in Mendip. Made Councillors aware of the Big Community Switch.

148.18 Apologies for Absence and to consider the reasons given. Council to receive apologies for absence and, if appropriate, to resolve to approve the reasons given. LGA 1972 s85(1)

Apologies were received from Cllrs Frances Haydon (Personal), Ron Warwick, (Personal)

RESOLVED:-To approve the apologies with reasons.

RESOLVED:-There were no declarations of interest.

150.18 Minutes of Nunney Parish Council Meetings held on the 3rd December 2018 To confirm and sign as a correct record, the minutes of the Council Meeting held on Monday 3rd December 2018.

RESOLVED:-That the minutes of the Council Meetings held on Monday 3rd December 2018, and previously circulated be taken as read, agreed and signed as a true record by The Chairman.

151.18 Clerks report and items of interest The Clerk reported on the following items: Nunney Road bridge repointing – this had now fallen down the list at Somerset County Council and the work will now take place in The Spring Grit/Salt bin filling – A list of bins had been supplied to Somerset County Council and these would be filled when resources allowed.

Payroo PAYE charge for using software and set up direct debit – this was noted by Councillors and it was agreed to set up a direct debit as required.

152.18 Bus Shelter To update on progress to date of proposed bus shelter in the Market Place

RESOLVED:-Cllr Warwick had emailed the Clerk prior to the meeting, stating that the Council’s planning agent had been informed that The Council now had the required insurance in place. Cllr Warwick was in the process of obtaining updated quotes for the bus shelter, this was noted by The Council

153.18 Plastic Recycling To consider a Village collative for the recycling of plastic

RESOLVED:-Cllr Tatam had been in contact with Nick Carter of Somerset Waste, but due to the Christmas period had nothing further to report at this stage.

154.18 Allotments Update on water supply to the allotment gardens, set a meeting date with allotment holders

RESOLVED:-There was further discussion about how water could be installed at the allotment gardens, it was agreed that mains water was going to be the best option and The Clerk to contact Cllr Master to get a price for laying the pipework and Cllr Gifford to contact Bristol Water for a quote to connect. It was agreed to set a meeting in February to meet with allotment holders in The Village Hall, Cllr Ramsay to set a suitable date with the Hall Committee.

155.18 Adult Exercise Equipment Update on current position, and consider work required and obtain quotes and grants

RESOLVED:-Cllr McGee had completed the grant application this is ready to submit on the 10th January, when the feedback residents was available.

156.18 Quarry Gardens To consider replacing damaged trees – Cllr Lloyd to report

RESOLVED:- It was agreed to replace the trees but to ask Cllr Masters to dig a decent hole, so some good soil could be used when planted, as Cllr Masters was not present this to be placed on the next agenda.

157.18 Parish Council Web Site To consider new/improved Parish Council web site

RESOLVED:-Cllr Tatam and Ramsay to draft up a new web site with Square Space approx. costs £120 per year. A new domain name of Nunney Parish Council was agreed. The draft to be submitted at the next Council meeting for approval

158.18 The Russell Field To consider possible site/s for nature conservation in The Russell Fields

RESOLVED:-It was agreed for Cllr Ramsay to contact Somerset Wildlife trust about how best to set up wildlife areas within The Russell Fields and report next meeting

RESOLVED:-This is ongoing and a further report next meeting

159.18 Tree Survey To consider quotes for tree survey at Quarry Gardens, allotments and burial ground

RESOLVED:-2 quotes had been received and the contact was awarded to Bob Parsons.

163.18 Reports from organizations (To hear from representatives): Nunney Community Association – Cllr Tatam reported on the successful events over the Christmas period and that The Nunney Fayre applications were now live on the web site and face book for bookings. Village Hall – Cllr Ramsay reported there is a meeting next week, so there is nothing to report at the moment. Nunney School – Nothing to report Police – Nothing to report Church – Cllr Pomeroy reported that all the events over the Christmas period had been a successful and enjoyed by all

164.18 Rights of Way To consider proposal for permissive right of way at The Dipping Place.

RESOLVED:-It was agreed to leave thing for the time being, but it would be nice to have a plaque installed marking The Dipping Place for the history of the Village.

Items for next meeting – Parish Boundary at Nunney Catch It was reported that the gate post at The Quarry gardens was broken, clerk to inspect and get quotes to repair.
