In Spain, the media market structure is made up of very different media groups, making it necessary to identify and classify them in a clear and coherent manner. To do so, this article collects secondary information from media companies’ websites and from audience measurement institutions. Results identify 50 media groups with activity in the Spanish market. They are classified into three categories according to the type of outlet, including national, sectorial, and regional. The current structure is based on recent developments in the last four decades of democracy among newspapers, magazines, radio, television and digital media. La estructura de la comunicación en España está formada por muy diferentes grupos de medios, lo que hace necesario identificarlos y clasificarlos de un modo claro y racional. Para ello, este artículo recaba información secundaria de los propios sitios web de las compañías y de las instituciones de referencia para la medición de audiencias. Los resultados identifican 50 grupos de comunicación con actividad en el mercado español. Se clasifican de acuerdo al tipo de medios que incluyen en tres categorías: grupos nacionales, sectoriales y regionales. La actual estructura se explica por la evolución reciente en las últimas cuatro décadas de democracia de los diarios, revistas, radios, televisiones y medios digitales. -

GENERAL OVERVIEW 2020 results marked by pandemic, with digital business boost, improved flexibility and financial strength ❑ EBITDA in 2020 reached 64 million euros compared to 189 million euros in 2019. Education business has been conditioned by the non-face-to-face opening of schools in most of the countries in which it is present, while the media business has been affected by the declines in the global advertising market. ❑ Digital business accelerates its expansion with a 20.3% growth in Ed-Tech subscription models in LatAm, reaching 1,727,000 students; El País reached 84,793 digital-only subscribers and radio recorded 59 million monthly average hours of streaming and 24 million podcast downloads. 468 The Evolution of Legal Education in Spain Soledad Atienza Since the 1960s, Spanish law schools have educated lawyers who have assisted in the opening of the national economy and helped develop successful international law firms in Spain based on the Anglo-American model. Yet until recently, little of the dynamism reflected in the Spanish economy and, more directly, in the legal profession, was evident in law school methods or curriculum. This article presents a view of the Spanish legal profession and its relationship to the legal educational system. It begins with an overview of changes in the Spanish legal market over the past few decades. Then it explains the state of law schools in Spain, which for the most part have not kept pace with this changing market. A notable exception is described, as well as the recent adoption of the “Bologna process,” which has the potential to encourage change in Spanish law schools. The article then presents short testimonials from Spanish law graduates from five different decades as to the role their legal education played in their respective professional successes. I. The Spanish Legal Market With a population of over 40,000,000,1 Spain ranks fifth in the European Union in the number of lawyers,2 with one lawyer for every 366 inhabitants, or about 120,000 lawyers.3 Madrid has the largest number of lawyers per capita, approximately one for every 200 inhabitants. In the last ten years the number of lawyers in Spain has increased 24 percent,4 and the population has increased 13.4 percent.5 Soledad Atienza is a Law Professor and is the Director of the LLB at IE Law School-IE University. -

The findings from this doctoral research reveal that biodiversity-based innovation is a social shaping process that has resulted in large benefits. The cumulative capability to use species from biodiversity gives meanings that contribute to the species shaping process, with organisations and institutional changes providing direction and increasing the rate of the shaping process. -
