It is my immense pleasure to submit this Perspective Plan considering the progress of the University in Five years. The academic projections and different courses useful for the Solapur community has been presented considering the educational life-line for all age groups and specially for the age group of 18 to 30 years. I am highly thankful to Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri. Devendra Fadnavis for providing this opportunity to understand the need of blending social system with academia. I am equally thankful to Hon’ble Higher and Technical Education Minister Shri. Vinod Tawade for asking us to prepare this plan in time bound system. This has enable us to understand the importance of framing of different objectives for the future growth of the University. It is my honest thanks to all MAHED committee members for informing us all sorts of information for the preparation of the document. I thanks specially to Dr. K. B. The stakeholders from Solapur District have provided wonderful suggestions specially for skilled courses. It is an addition to the Education system which has given different angle to think about the growth of higher education in the University. 1 1. Executive Summary The Perspective Plan of Solapur University, Solapur is aimed primarily at enhancing the GER, address the Gender equality issue, inclusiveness and achieving academic Excellence with related skills. Prepared as per recommendations of Dr. Narendra Jadhav Committee, the perspective plan attempts to meet expectations of the MAHED. The highlights are: Solapur University proposes 21 new colleges under the perspective plan 2019- 20 to 2023-24 including 5 Women’s colleges are proposed at Pandharpur, Sangola, Madha, Akkalkot and Barshi taking into consideration the higher number of female students population. However, less number of females is registered in the said areas in higher education.2 Night Colleges will be started at Pandharpur and Barshi to provide opportunity for the working classes of students specially from working classesto bring them into the main stream of higher education1 pharmacy college in North Solapur taluka, 1 Law College in Malshiras taluka and 1 Sant wagnmay college at Pandhapur.It is also proposed to start 7 schools on the University campus (Language, Technology, Life Science, Education, Commerce & Management, Health Science and Fine &Performing Art) 1 Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC), 1 University conducted Skill Development College and 2 sub campuses will be established at Barshi and Pandharpur. 16 Incubation Centres will be established during first and second plan year. UG/PG programs with high employment potential skills will be the main focus for generating employability as per local and global requirement. It will have components of internship, training, and incubation for that skill development center will be established which will train the trainers and also to introduce 46 additional skill based courses. Sanskrit, Prakrit, Pali and Creative Arts like Sculpture, Painting, Drawing, Art and Craft, Music, Dance and Dramatics, Martial Arts, Yoga, Life Skills and Value Education, Sports will be introduced in the present education system of the university. It will bring back the glory of Solapur district’s rich literary, lingual, spiritual and cultural heritage. The perspective plan provides a road map for emphatic, time bound and meticulous planning and implantation of proposed colleges and courses with special focus on skill identification to meet local and global needs. It also proposes additional credit with CBCS pattern in the curriculum. Every year Academic & Administrative Audit (AAA) of 15 colleges will be done. 20 Colleges having B grade will be guided in plan period for obtaining higher NAAC grade. Technical programmes of the engineering colleges will be accredited with NBA. Colleges and University Schools (8+3) will be encouraged to undergo autonomy. Industry academy partnership, consultancy, R&D development and to improve the quality of research, research park will be established. The effective execution of Perspective Plan, it is essential to recruit the faculty and start the grant-in-aid schools, establish grantable new subjects under various schools. 2 2.
