Selected full paper submissions were redirected for Jaap Kamps evaluation as potential short or poster/demo papers, following the recom- Giannis Tsakonas mendations of the reviewers. Yannis Manolopoulos Lazaros Iliadis Each submission was reviewed by at least three program committee members, and two senior program committee members, and the two chairs oversaw the reviewing and often extensive follow-up discussion. Where the discussion was not sufficient to make a decision, the paper went through an extra review by the program committee. Each paper was discussed indi- vidually, based on the reviews, the metareviews, and the discussion at a PC Meeting, where the final decisions were made. The conference is honored by three very interesting keynote speeches by Paul Groth on “Machines are people too”, Elton Barker on “Back to the future: annotating, collaborating and linking in a digital ecosystem” and Dimitrios Tzovaras on “Visualization in the big data era: data mining from networked information”. All three cover important areas of the digital library field. 2 TPDL2017 TPDL2017 3 ORGANISATION PROGRAM COMMITTEE COMMITTEE GeneraL CHairs Senior PC members Yannis Manolopoulos, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece Trond Aalberg, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Norway Lazaros Iliadis, Democritus University of Thrace, Greece David Bainbridge, University of Waikato, New Zealand Tobias Blanke, University of Glasgow, UK Program CHairs Jose Borbinha, IST / INESC-ID, UK George Buchanan, City University London, UK Jaap Kamps, University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands Donatella Castelli, CNR-ISTI, Italy Giannis Tsakonas, University of Patras, Greece Stavros Christodoulakis, Technical University of Crete, Greece Milena Dobreva, University of Malta, Malta Organising CHair Nicola Ferro, University of Padua, Italy Apostolos Papadopoulos, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece Edward Fox, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, USA Ingo Frommholz, University of Bedfordshire, UK PUBLicitY/PUBLication CHair Norbert Fuhr, University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany Ioannis Karydis, Ionian University, Greece Richard Furuta, Texas A&M University, USA Marcos Goncalves , Federal University of Minas Gerais , Brazil WorksHop CHairs Annika Hinze, University of Waikato, New Zealand Philipp Mayr, GESIS, Germany Sarantos Kapidakis, Ionian Uninversity, Greece Kjetil Nørvåg, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Norway Laszlo Kovacs, Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Hungary Clifford Lynch, CNI, USA TUtoriaL CHairs Wolfgang Nejdl, L3S and University of Hannover, Germany Thomas Risse, L3S, Germany Michael Nelson, Old Dominion University, USA Gianmaria Silvello, University of Padua, Italy Erich Neuhold, University of Vienna, Austria Christos Papatheodorou, Ionian University, Greece PaneL CHair Edie Rasmussen, University of British Columbia, Canada Cristina Ribeiro, University of Porto, Portugal Andreas Rauber, Vienna University of Technology, Austria Thomas Risse, L3S Research Center, Germany Posters/Demo CHairs Laurent Romary, INRIA & HUB-ISDL, France Seamus Ross, University of Toronto, Canada Vangelis Banos, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece Heiko Schuldt, University of Basel, Switzerland Annika Hinze, University of Waikato, New Zealand Mário J.
