Members of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Rosary Guild handle the care of altar linens at St. Joseph’s and Christ the Good Shepherd. The team works behind the scenes in this hidden apostolate. Following established practices, they maintain, change and clean the altar linens with reverence and love, particularly for sacred linens such as the corporal used in the consecration. The busiest times are Christmas and Easter, but the linens are checked on a weekly basis. Efforts are coordinated by Charlene Clark using the two-volume guidebooks created by team member Kathy Shearer over a three- year period. The guidebooks include a matrix designating linens for various liturgical seasons, photos and descriptions of the linens, and instructions on care. Each week, the church staff will highlight a random act of kindness done by our parishioners. If you witness a parishioner doing something special for the church, neighbor, friend, or anyone, please call the Church Office at (979) 822-2721 or email [email protected]. Congratulations to Father Andrew on his 2nd Anniversary of Priesthood (June 23). Your ministry is a blessing to our parish. May God continue to bless you and your service to His Church.
