Introduction SpringHill Winter Teen Retreats are for Junior High and Senior High students in your group. Where else can your group tube down a giant snow hill, enjoy an awesome band, and experience God all in one day? Your students will conquer challenges on the indoor climbing wall and within their own hearts. There are ten different Winter Teen Retreats to choose from based on grade, different speakers, and bands. Select the best option for your ministry. JANUARY 13–15 Junior High Speaker: RO Smith RO and Mindy met as co-workers at Springhill Camps in Evart, MI. They have been married for 13 years and recently became parents to a beautiful baby girl named Eleanor Lane. RO and Mindy currently serve at Bel Air Church in Los Angeles, CA. RO is the RO Smith Director of Youth Discipleship and Mindy is the Senior Director of Children and Youth, including oversight of the church’s accredited preschool. As part of their call to ministry in Los Angeles, they desire for families to “follow Jesus every day and everywhere with everyone.” RO and Mindy are enthusiastic sports fans and love to spend time outdoors with Eleanor and Scout (their adorable dog). Band: Bread of Stone Sioux city-based Bread of Stone is a rare band that truly puts service and ministry Bread of Stone before dreams of stardom. Taking their name from a vision of being unfit then transformed to be used for God’s work. Today, having toured with a veritable ‘who’s who’ of major CCM artists, including: Newsboys, Superchick, Sanctus Real, Petra, Building 429, and several others—all while maintaining their role as an Indie band solely at God’s direction—Bread of Stone has matured in their music and message. JANUARY 20–22 Combined Senior/Junior High Speaker: Jeffery Dean Jeffrey Dean is one of the top motivational speakers for Christian teens in the country. Youth motivational speakers are crucial, as they serve an age group that is being heavily influenced by peers and culture. Teens need the opportunity to hear Christian Jeffery Dean youth speakers that will meet them where they are. Jeffrey Dean has extensive experience powerfully affecting the lives of Christian teens Band: Joe Frey Inspired by his father’s commitment to ministry along with his own desire to live in total Joe Frey surrender to God’s will, Joe leapt from the corporate world to the music mission field in 2014. With the support of his wife Sara and their four children, he put together a band—The Broken Vessels—and began sharing his music in churches, as well as at conferences and events, throughout New England. SpringHill | 7717 95th Ave. | Evart, MI 49631 | 231.734.2616 3 Retreats Schedule Lineup Continued JANUARY 27–29 Senior High Speaker: Bryan Jones Bryan has been the Director of Student Impact, the high school ministry of Willow Creek Community Church, since 2007. He has a passion for teaching, discipleship, Bryan Jones and evangelism and sees student ministry as a place where God can shape, grow, and call young men and women to play a part in building up His church for the rest of their lives. Band: Luke Cyrus Band Luke Cyrus Band is an Alternative/Folk/Pop group with a worship mindset. These six Michigan musicians bring their own passions and personalities and apply them to every song, creating catchy, rhythmic tunes laced with the truth found in God’s Luke Cyrus Band word. Luke and the band share a deep love for their Creator and Savior, and have a passion to see His Kingdom advance, His Bride encouraged to be Salt and Light, and His Church exhorted to live out it’s full Kingdom potential. FEBRUARY 3– 5 Combined Senior/Junior High Speaker: Brooklyn Lindsey Brooklyn has authored numerous books and projects, including Confessions of a Not-So-Supermodel, Opposite Day, Sacred Life, Devo2Go, and The Kingdom Brooklyn Lindsey Experiment: Youth Edition. She is a pastor and speaker who loves teens, teaching from the Bible, and leading people to live in response to God’s love. Brooklyn, while named after a city in New York, lives in the sunshine state with her husband, Coy, and their sweet girls, Kirra and Mya. Band: Mass Anthem Mass Anthem has zeal to spread the message of the Gospel to youth and young adults all across the country. Mass Anthem aspires to lead worship for believers to sing all together, with one voice. Mass Anthem SpringHill | 7717 95th Ave. | Evart, MI 49631 | 231.734.2616 4 Retreats Schedule Lineup Continued FEBRUARY 10– 12 Junior High Speaker: Heather Flies Heather is in her 19th year as the Junior High Pastor at Wooddale Church in Eden Prairie. She LOVES students and people in general! During the school year, she is invited into local Junior High schools to speak on abstinence, self-esteem, and Heather Flies other current issues. She also encourages women in all seasons of life, trains youth workers, and helps parents understand how to love their teenagers well. In addition, Heather authored I Want to Talk to My Teen About Girl Stuff, a book for parents and her book for teenagers That’s What She Said/That’s What He Said. Band: TBD FEBRUARY 17– 19 Senior High Speaker: Ricky Page Ricky Page is the East County pastor at the Rock Church in San Diego, California. From the day he was saved at the age of 19, he knew he was headed for full-time ministry. For 23+ years, he and his wife and kids have been pursuing ministry Ricky Page together on the west coast and beyond. This year, we welcome Ricky to Michigan. Let’s hope he can handle the cold! Band: TBD SpringHill | 7717 95th Ave. | Evart, MI 49631 | 231.734.2616 5 Retreats Schedule Lineup Continued FEBRUARY 24– 26 Combined Senior/Junior High Speaker: Aaron Buer Aaron has been a student pastor for 12 years and currently serves as the student ministries pastor at Ada Bible Church in Grand Rapids, MI. Ada Bible is a multi-site church of about 8,500. Most of his time is devoted to leading his amazing team, writing Aaron Buer curriculum, teaching, and trying to navigate the challenges of multi-site church. His life’s passion is student ministries. Band: Sing Love Worship Sing Love is a group of worship leaders from all over the country. Sing Love can look and feel very differently from one event to another, but what remains true about the band is wherever they go they will glorify the name of Christ with every chance they get. Sing Love Worship MARCH 3– 5 Combined Senior/Junior High Speaker: Josh Isendardt Josh Isenhardt is a dynamic and high-energy communicator who is passionate about sharing truth in a simple and impactful way. Through his unique blend of Josh Isendardt storytelling, object lessons, and hard-hitting principles, Josh is effective at capturing his audience’s attention while leading them to life-change. Josh has spoken to audiences of 10 to 10,000 while developing leaders, one- on-one, to accomplish their life purpose. Through Simple Message, Josh helps companies, organizations and individuals to simplify what they are trying to say in order to maximize the impact of their message. Band: The Great Romance The Great Romance The Great Romance is a modern worship/rock band from St. Louis that travels the country spreading the gospel of Christ through music and more. Their music flows out of the knowledge that the greatest relationship anyone can have is with their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and it is their mission to share that message with the world. SpringHill | 7717 95th Ave. | Evart, MI 49631 | 231.734.2616 6 Retreats Schedule Lineup Continued MARCH 10– 12 Combined Senior/Junior High Speaker: Mark Oestreicher Mark Oestreicher has been involved in church ministry his whole life, particularly with teenagers and youth workers. Marko has had a broad experience working in churches in roles ranging from Junior High Pastor to Executive Pastor. For 11 years, Mark Oestreicher Marko was at Youth Specialties in San Diego, an organization that trains and equips church youth workers the last 8 of those years as president. Concurrently, Marko was also a part of the leadership team of Zondervan (Grand Rapids, MI). Marko has authored or contributed to more than 60 books, including the much talked-about Youth Ministry 3.0, and the recent series of books. Marko is a partner in The Youth Cartel, providing resources, training and coaching for Church youth Leaders. Marko has been married to Jeannie for 28 years, and has two teenage children, Liesl and Max. The Great Romance Band: The Great Romance The Great Romance is a modern worship/rock band from St. Louis that travels the country spreading the gospel of Christ through music and more. MARCH 17– 19 Combined Senior/Junior High Speaker: Chris Zarbaugh Chris has had a lot of ministry titles over the past 25 years as a pastor, but nothing excites him more than spending time with students.
