ON-STREET PARKING CHANGES? LET US KNOW WHAT YOU THINK!

What is an RPZ? Restricted Parking Zones are installed to limit commuter parking from major demand generators such as hospitals, universities, and business districts on nearby residential streets, while still allowing short-term parking for customers and visitors to support thriving neighborhood business districts. RPZs do this through signed time limits that: • Are usually in effect during the day (for example, from 7 AM – 6 PM) • Can be on either one or both sides of the street • Allow short-term visitor parking • Allow residents to purchase permits to park longer than the posted time limit • Allow unrestricted parking when the signs are not in effect

Why was an RPZ study conducted? We received requests from the Wallingford Community Council to study parking in residential areas in Wallingford.

What are the next steps? We are collecting feedback through November 30, 2017 by survey, email, and phone. Our goal is to create a draft proposal to present to the community in early 2018.
