THRILLER, SAWYER BROWN, STAYIN’ ALIVE, AND AIR SUPPLY HEADLINE TUACAHN’S 2014 FALL CONCERT SEASON (Ivins, UT) The Tuacahn Amphitheatre- Southern Utah’s favorite music and theatre venue- has assembled an all-star lineup of musicians and performers that will make the 2014 fall season one to remember. Performers scheduled to appear in the deep canyon of Tuacahn include Odyssey Dance Theatre’s Thriller, Sawyer Brown, Stayin’ Alive: One Night of the Bee Gees, and Air Supply. Odyssey Dance Theatre’s THRILLER Tuacahn Amphitheatre Oct. 25-November 1, at 7:30 PM October 25th additional show at 11:30pm (Ivins, UT)— Thriller—Odyssey Dance Theatre’s annual ode to Halloween—returns to Tuacahn for another season. Regardless of whether Thriller has become a part of your annual traditions or if you are about to experience it for the first time, this celebration of Halloween is a memorable must-see event for one and all. Derryl Yeager’s (Artistic Director) Thriller is Odyssey’s spooky Halloween spectacular—an evening of entertainment combining technical aspects of dance while paying homage to the stars of All Hallows’ Eve. Throughout the two-hour program, Thriller highlights all the heroes of the season, including Frankenstein’s monster and his bride, skeletons, mummies, werewolves, Chucky dolls, Jason, and Freddy Krueger, to name a few. The group originally grew out of country-pop singer Don King’s touring band in 1979. After King retired in 1981, the band decided to stick together. They took on the name of their Nashville street where they rehearsed. After two years of being on the road, they landed an audition on the popular syndicated talent show “Star Search.” Sawyer Brown won the grand prize of 100,000 dollars and soon after a record deal with Liberty/Capitol. The rest is history! After more than 30 years, several songs on the Top 20 charts, numerous music awards, and more than 4,000 live performances, Sawyer Brown will hit the stage live at Tuacahn’s Amphitheatre. STAYIN’ ALIVE: ONE NIGHT OF THE BEE GEES Tuacahn Amphitheatre Saturday, November 8th, 7:30 PM The Bee Gees have been captivating audiences for more than five decades with their unique vocal sound while remaining current through all the eras of contemporary music. The tight harmonies of the brothers Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibbs have made the Bee Gees one of the most impossible attractions to copy in a full musical concert performance–until Stayin’ Alive. With impressive vocals and musicians, Stayin’ Alive creates an authentic live Bee Gees concert experience–not only does this group sound like the Bee Gees, they look like them, too! The Australian soft rock duo, song- writer and guitarist Graham Russell and lead vocalist Russell Hitchcock met in May of 1975 while performing in the Australian production of the Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical, ‘Jesus Christ Superstar.’ In 1976 they formed Air Supply. Since then Air Supply has enjoyed a succession of hits worldwide, including eight Top Ten hits in the United States, and has sold more than 100 million albums. In December of 2013 the band was inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association Hall of Fame. The duo continues to play upwards of 150 shows a year worldwide and on November 15th Air Supply makes their stop here at Tuacahn for one night only.
