A320 / B737 CAPTAIN MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Turkish Airlines (Turkish: Türk Hava Yolları) is the national flag carrier airline of Turkey, headquartered in the Turkish Airlines General Management Building on the grounds of Atatürk Airport in Yeşilköy, Bakırköy, Istanbul. It operates scheduled services to 163 international and 41 domestic cities (38 domestic airports), serving a total of 204 airports, in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. With an increase to 91 destination countries, the carrier's destination network from one hub is the world's largest. The airline's main base is at Atatürk International Airport, with secondary hubs at Esenboğa International Airport, Sabiha Gökçen International Airport, and Adnan Menderes Airport. In 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 THY carried 17 million, 19.7 million, 22.5 million, 25.1 million and 29 million passengers with total revenues of US$2.23, $3.0, $4.5, $4 and $5.6 billion, respectively. The airline has 18,188 employees (30 June 2011). Requirement: General Qualifcations: Between the ages of 30-60 on the date of joining the airline Minimum High School Diploma No incident or accident whilst flying and no disciplinary actions received No criminal record or record history Technical Qualifications: Must be a current Commander/Captain 6.000 hours and more minimum total hours of flight. Minimum 3.000 and more flight hours on aircraft over 27 tonnes. 1000 hours and more flight hours on the applied aircraft type. Having Type Rating on the aircraft in the inventories of THY INC. Within last year, not a break of more than 6 months in the flights. Health Conditions: Meeting the required health conditions of the Airlines Tranportation of the ICAO Annex-1 and JAR FCL 3 on Airline Transportation Pilot. Foreign Language (English) Requirements: ICAO Level 4 in English Passing the English Exam which will be made in İstanbul by Turkish Airlines. Informative Salary and Benefit Package for (B737 / A320) Captains A Captain Pilot candidate, completing all the trainings with success and beginning to work in accordance with the requirements of the agreement, will be subject to Collective Labor Agreement and annexes thereof applicable (and to be promulgated later on) in Turkish Airlines Inc. and to protocols, regulations, directives, administrative board decisions and other legislation. Some of the rights regulated in the said legislation are as follows; The Employee will be entitled to same salary, social and personnel benefits being provided to other pilots of the same aircraft type at THY INC. Some of these benefits are listed below; In addition to the monthly gross payment of TL 18,029 (€7,870 exchange rate may vary) that will be given by THY INC., a bonus payment of gross TL 8,862 (€3,868 exchange rate may vary) is going to be given every three months (In March, July, September and December over the sum of (1) seniority payment and (2) flight compensation). Thus per month the Employee will receive an average total gross amount of TL 20,983 (€9,160 exchange rate may vary). The details of the gross monthly payment of TL 18,029 that is going to be given to the Employee is as determined below; (a) TL 1,147 seniority payment if the Employee has bachelor degree ( may vary according to education level – university diploma equivalency must be approved by Turkish Council of Higher Education ( YÖK)- also after the completion of each year on the first day of the following August one seniority degree is given to the Employee.) (b) TL 7,715 flight compensation, (c) TL 8,837 credited additional flight compensation, (d) TL 330 social support Other Benefits: The Captain Pilot will be granted with a marital support of TL 950 for once in case he gets married. The Captain Pilot will be granted with a breastfeeding benefit of TL 440 in case his wife delivers a child. The Captain Pilot will be granted with a death benefit of TL 1.200,00 in case the wife, the children of the Captain Pilot, whom he is liable with supporting, his father or his mother deceases This job description is for informative purposes only and it does not form any contractual obligations. Tax: To calculate Net Pay, in accordance with current Turkish legislations, approximately 95% of Gross Salary is paid to the Employee (in a year approximately 5% withheld for taxes and social security deductions). The ratios of the deductions may vary increasingly throughout the year. The amount of deductions will be determined in accordance with bilateral taxation and social security treaties. Overtime: If the Employee flies in excess of 70 hours in a given month, he/she shall receive an additional overtime payment for such exceeding flight time calculated by adding 50% to his level of hourly rate for such overtime (which is equal to TL 178,14 ( €77,70 exchange rate may vary) per hour as of July 1st, 2010) If the Captain Pilot flies on Turkish religious and national holidays of Turkey or on Sundays, he shall receive an additional payment for such days calculated over a special hourly rate. Travel Allowance: The employee will be paid a travel allowance in varying amounts determined as per the destinations to be travelled in accordance with the company circular regulating fuel support and travel allowances. As of July 1st, 2010, the travel allowance within Turkey is net TL 33 per day and for Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, it is net TL 50 per day. As to other destinations around the world, the travel allowances are being determined in varying amounts depending on the country to be travelled. Travel: The Captain Pilot will be granted the following pass or reduced rate tickets; one (1) 100% pass ticket and two (2) 90% reduced rate tickets for domestic flights for his wife and for his children under his custody after one (1) year employment with the TURKISH AIRLINES INC. After 2nd year of employment, one (1) additional 100% pass ticket for international routes (Middle East and Europe only). After 3rd year of employment, one (1) additional 100% domestic flight ticket and after 5th year one (1) 90% reduced rate international flight ticket. After 10th year, four (4) additional 90% reduced rate international flight tickets The Captain Pilot will be granted with 2 ID90R2 (rebate tickets) monthly TURKISH AIRLINES INC. for the pilot and his family. Insurance: The Captain Pilot benefit from the standard health plan provided by TURKISH AIRLINES INC. to all employees in accordance with the company policies. The ATPL license of the Captain Pilot will be insured by TURKISH AIRLINES INC. against the risk of loss of license due to medical reasons and the coverage of insurance will be equal to the coverage determined for Commander/Captains of TURKISH AIRLINES INC.(the current insurance coverage for Commander/Captain is USD 100,000). Standard Roster pattern: The Captain Pilot will have 5 days ON duty, 2 days OFF duty or 6 days ON, 1 day OFF duty (2+2+2+1+1) in accordance with TURKISH AIRLINES INC. regulations. According to the requests from the foreign pilots in TURKISH AIRLINES INC. monthly flight schedules of the captain pilot is tried to plan with minimum 4 days off consecutively as long as crew scheduling department has enough source for planning. Accommodation & Transportation During screening process and first 15 days after joining the company, TURKISH AIRLINES INC: will arrange and pay for accommodation. During the training period, transportation between the hotel and the training centre will be supplied by TURKISH AIRLINES INC. Annual leave: Annual leave of the Captain Pilot who completes: . his/her one year of duty is 20 work-day. 5 - 15 years is 26 work-day, . and more than 15 years is 30 work-day. Other leave days: The Captain Pilot will be granted with paid casual leave up to 7 days in case of demand. The Captain Pilot will be granted with paid marital leave for 8 days in case he gets married. The Captain Pilot will be granted with paid birth leave for 6 days in case his wife delivers a child. The Captain Pilot will be granted with paid leave for 7 days in case his wife, children, mother or father or siblings decease. The Captain Pilot will be granted with paid leave for 5-12 days upon demand in case a natural catastrophe occurs in locations where he, his wife or the first degree relatives are resident. The Captain Pilot may be granted with a non-paid leave up to 90 days in a year in case of written application. Start Date: As soon as possible (the captain pilot is required to start within 1 month of completing the screening) Work Permit: Turkish Airlines shall arrange and pay for all work permit and resident permit to work in Turkey) The Captain Pilot undertakes to act in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement and annexes thereof applicable (and to be promulgated later on) in TURKISH AIRLINES INC and to protocols, regulations, directives, administrative board decisions and other legislation.
