The WPI team surveyed 16 waterfront districts, four in-depth, assessing their walkability using a tool created by the research team and conducted preference surveys to understand the perceptions of Hong Kong pedestrians. Because pedestrians value the shortest, safest, least-crowded, and easiest to navigate routes, this study found that confusing routes, unsafe or indirect connections, and a lack of amenities detract from the walkability in Hong Kong. This report provides new data concerning the walkability in harbor front districts and a tool to measure it, along with recommendations for potential improvements. iii | P a g e Acknowledgements Our team would like to thank the many people that helped us over the course of this project. P AGE 1 Q: Tell us about your background and your company, Connectivity Capital Partners. A: I started in investment banking after graduating from Harvard and focused on technology. I quickly realized I actually wanted to work inside the technology industry. So while still in my twenties, I found a role at Microsoft, where I had the opportunity to work directly with top executives including CFOs Greg Maffei and John Connors, and CEOs Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer among others. I was tasked with leading some strategic projects, ranging from Software as a Service to Open Source Software, which shape my thinking even today. I was also given the opportunity to lead internet infrastructure investments within a nascent corporate ventures effort. I led investments in Akamai (IPO), InterVU (sold to Akamai), and iBeam (IPO) among others. In 2004, Viacom recruited me to lead strategy and business development. -

Apollo Global Management Announces Conclusion and Release of Independent Review NEW YORK – January 25, 2021 – Apollo Global Management, Inc. (NYSE: APO) (together with its consolidated subsidiaries, “Apollo”) today announced that the Conflicts Committee of the Board of Directors has completed its previously announced independent review of Chairman and CEO Leon Black’s previous professional relationship with Jeffrey Epstein and publicly released the review’s findings. At a regularly scheduled Board meeting in October 2020, Mr. Black requested the Conflicts Committee, comprised of independent directors, retain outside counsel to conduct an independent and thorough review. The Committee subsequently retained Dechert LLP (“Dechert”), a leading global law firm. Michael Ducey, Chair of the Conflicts Committee said, “On behalf of the Board, we want to thank Dechert LLP for conducting a timely and thorough review. We are releasing the report and findings in its entirety in the interest of being fully transparent to all of our stakeholders.” Key findings of the Dechert report include: • Apollo never retained Epstein for any services and Epstein never invested in any Apollo- managed funds; • Epstein regularly advised Mr. Black on trust and estate planning, tax issues, philanthropic endeavors, and the operation of his Family Office; • All fees paid to Mr. Epstein by Mr. Black or his Family Office were for bona fide tax, estate planning and other related services, and the amounts were intended to be proportional to the value provided by Mr. Epstein; • Epstein’s advice was vetted by respected professional advisors; and • Dechert found no evidence that Mr. Black was involved in any way with Mr. -

SUMMARY ACCREDITATION REPORT Nursing Services Department, Hospital Authority Head Office Learning Programme Re-accreditation Higher Diploma in Nursing MARCH 2018 - 1 - 1. TERMS OF REFERENCE 1.1 Based on the Service Agreement (No.: VA790), the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ), in the capacity of the Accreditation Authority as provided for under the Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications Ordinance (Cap 592) (hereafter Ordinance), was commissioned by the Nursing Services Department, Hospital Authority Head Office (Operator) to conduct a Learning Programme Re-accreditation Exercise with the following Terms of Reference: (a) To conduct an accreditation test as provided for in the Ordinance to determine whether the programme of the Nursing Services Department, Hospital Authority Head Office (the Operator) meets the stated objectives and QF standard and can continue to be offered as an accredited programme (i) Higher Diploma in Nursing (b) To issue to the Operator an accreditation report setting out the results of the determination in relation to (a) by HKCAAVQ. 1.2 The accreditation exercise was conducted according to the relevant accreditation guidelines referred to in the Service Agreement. The Education Bureau’s “Updated Revised Common Descriptors for Associate Degree and Higher Diploma Programmes under the New Academic Structure” was also a guiding document used by the Panel and the Operator in conducting this exercise for the Higher Diploma programme. 2. HKCAAVQ’S DETERMINATION Learning Programme Re-accreditation 2.1 HKCAAVQ has determined that the Higher Diploma in Nursing meets the stated objectives and QF standard at Level 4, and can be offered as an accredited programme with a validity period from 01 September 2018 to 30 September 2020. -

Preamble Promotion of STEM Education This document entitled Promotion of STEM Education – Unleashing Potential in Innovation is issued to solicit views and comments from various stakeholders in the education and other sectors of the community on the recommendations and proposed strategies for the promotion of STEM education among schools in Hong Kong. It should be read in conjunction with the separate Briefs for Updating the Science, Technology and Mathematics Education Key Learning Area (KLA) Curricula). Hong Kong's Pro-Democracy Protests
Protests & Democracy: Hong Kong’s Pro-Democracy Protests Jennifer Yi Advisor: Professor Tsung Chi Politics Senior Comprehensive Project Candidate for Honors consideration April 10, 2015 2 Abstract Protests that occur in the public sphere shed light on the different types of democracy that exist in a region. A protester’s reason for participation demonstrates what type of democracy is missing, while a protest itself demonstrates what type of democracy exists in the region. This Politics Senior Comprehensive Project hypothesizes that the recent pro-democracy protests in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (“Hong Kong”), dubbed the Umbrella Movement, demonstrate an effective democracy due to active citizen engagement within the public sphere. Data is collected through personal interviews of Umbrella Movement participants that demonstrate what type of democracy currently exists in Hong Kong, what type of democracy protesters are looking for, and what type of democracy exists as a result of the recent protests. The interviews show that a true representative and substantive democracy do not exist in Hong Kong as citizens are not provided the democratic rights that define these types of democracy. However, the Umbrella Movement demonstrates an effective democracy in the region as citizens actively engage with one another within the public sphere for the purpose of achieving a representative and substantive democracy in Hong Kong. 3 I. Introduction After spending most of my junior year studying in Hong Kong, I have become very interested in the region and its politics. I am specifically interested in the different types of democracy that exist in Hong Kong as it is a special administrative region of the People’s Republic of China (“China”). -

Introduction Hong Kong's status as a Special Administrative Region of China has placed it on the foreign policy radar of most countries having relations with China and interests in Asia. This interest in Hong Kong has encouraged considerable inter- est in Hong Kong's founding documents and their interpretation. Hong Kong's constitution, the Hong Kong Basic Law ("Basic Law"), has sparked a number of debates over democratization and its pace. It is generally understood that greater democratization will mean greater autonomy and vice versa, less democracy means more control by Beijing. For this reason there is considerable interest in the politics of interpreting Hong Kong's Basic Law across the political spectrum in Hong Kong, in Beijing and in many foreign capitals. -

Programme Paper: Hong Kong in the Global Economy SUMMARY • The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) has quickly bounced back from the effects of the global economic recession in 2008/09. Economic indicators for the first half of 2010 are strong and attention is turning to the medium- to long-term outlook and Hong Kong’s position in the region. • The SAR’s links with the Mainland economy are still special, though they are evolving and changing. While previously Hong Kong has been seen as the gateway into China, in the future it is also increasingly likely to be the gateway out of the People’s Republic of China (PRC). It now needs to focus on how it can best exploit this for its international positioning as others become interested in directly attracting PRC funds and investment. -

To reduce the financial barriers and to improve the accessibility of dental care services to the older adults, a number of programmes adopting an innovative shared funding, administration, and provision mode have recently been implemented. In this review, an online search on the Hong Kong government websites and the electronic medical literature databases was conducted using keywords such as “dental care,” “dental service,” and “Hong Kong.” Dental care services for older adults in Hong Kong were identified. These programmes include government-funded outreach dental care service provided by non-governmental organizations (NGOs), provision of dentures and related treatments by private and NGO dentists supported by the Community Care Fund, and government healthcare vouchers for private healthcare, including dental, services. This paper presents the details of the operation of these programmes and the initial findings.
