(MMC) FAQ What Is MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES' CLUB MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB ™ (MMC) FAQ What is MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB ™ (MMC) and when does it start? Starting on October 19, 2014, the Texas Lottery will add the new national premium game MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB to the draw game portfolio. The game is designed to create more millionaires in a single draw than any game in U.S. history. When the Top Prize is won, a second drawing occurs for the Millionaires’ Club Prizes in the amount of $1 Million each, which are awarded to at least 10 and possibly hundreds of winners in a single week! How many ways can a player win? Players have three ways to win a million dollars or more. 1. The base game allows players the opportunity to win a Top Prize of $15 Million to $25 Million by matching five (5) out of fifty-two (52) numbers and one (1) of twenty-eight (28) numbers represented by a Property from the MONOPOLY game board. 2. When the Top Prize is won, a secondary drawing will occur for the Millionaires’ Club Prizes. Each ticket purchased will print with a randomly generated Millionaires’ Club Prize Number that will be eligible to win $1 Million when the Millionaires’ Club Prize drawing occurs. The number of $1 Million prizes starts at 10 and grows by a minimum of 2 based on continued sales growth until the Top Prize is won and drawing is held for Millionaires’ Club Prizes. 3. Players become eligible for selection in the second-chance drawing for the Game Show by entering the Webcode on their ticket(s) into their Texas Lottery Luck Zone account. Each Webcode represents a Property. Each time a player achieves a Property Set by attaining all the Properties of the same color, they will earn entries into the upcoming drawing for the TV Game Show studio audience. Members of the TV Game Show studio audience may be selected to participate in the Game Show and may be eligible to play for prizes up to $1 Million. How do MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB sales benefit Texas? As with other games offered by the Texas Lottery, the proceeds from MMC ticket sales in Texas are transferred to the Foundation School Fund to benefit public education in Texas. How much is each ticket? Each play costs $5 per draw. You may purchase more than one play at a time, but all plays print on a separate ticket and are valid only for the next available drawing, and will be printed individually. MMC does not offer Multi-Draw. The MMC TV Game Show second-chance drawing property Webcode may be entered in your Luck Zone account up to 180 days from the date of the drawing. When are the drawings? MMC drawings are held on Fridays at 10:15 p.m. CT. The Multi‐State Lottery Association (MUSL), which also coordinates Powerball®, is responsible for the base game and Millionaires’ Club Prizes drawings conducted at MUSL headquarters in Urbandale, Iowa. The second chance entry TV Game Show drawings are conducted in Alpharetta, Georgia by Scientific Games. Visit playmcc.com for drawing details and results. How to play MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB? Base Game: Pick five (5) out of fifty-two (52) numbers. These appear as YOUR DRAW NUMBERS on your MMC ticket. The Property Number is one (1) out of twenty-eight (28) numbers and always is a Quick Pick. The Top Prize starts at $15 Million and rolls to a cap of $25 Million. Once the Top Prize is capped, the additional sales go to fund additional Millionaires’ Club Prizes until the Top Prize is won. In addition to the Top Prize, nine prize levels range from $5 to $100,000. Millionaires’ Club Prizes: 1 prize level ($1 Million). The Millionaires’ Club Prize drawing occurs only when the Top Prize has been won in the base game. MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB ™ (MMC) FAQ Ten (10) Millionaires’ Club Prizes are available at the starting Top Prize of $15 Million. A minimum of two (2) Millionaires’ Club Prizes are added for each roll of the base game Top Prize and continue to increase until the Top Prize is won. The Millionaires’ Club Prize Number is only valid for the drawing date printed on the ticket and does not carry over to subsequent drawings. MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB: TV GAME SHOW One hour, prime time game show produced by Hasbro Studios. Trip Prize Winners (TV Game Show Audience) and their guest must be 18 years of age or older. No cash prize equivalent in lieu of taking the trip. Under certain circumstances, at the sole discretion of the Texas Lottery, a proxy may be permitted to take the trip and attend the game show on behalf of the trip prize winner. All federal taxes will be the responsibility of the original trip prize winner. Game Show Eligibility: For each MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB play you purchase, a unique entry Webcode will be generated and printed on your game ticket. Visit txlottery.org/luckzone to register your Webcode and begin collecting Properties for a Property Set. Every time you purchase a new MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB ticket, be sure to log into your txlottery.org/luckzone account and enter that ticket Webcode. NOTE: Cashed tickets cannot be returned. Enter your Webcode prior to claiming a prize and no later than 180 days from the drawing date printed on the ticket. When you have collected the Properties needed to form a Property Set, you will earn drawing entries for a chance to win a 5 day/4 night trip to Las Vegas and become a member of the TV Game Show TV studio audience. The trip includes airfare, hotel accommodations, ground transportation, meals and spending money. Winners of the Las Vegas trip could be selected as contestants on the MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB TV Game Show for a chance to win prizes up to $1 million! The dates for the first three trip drawings are listed below. Entries must be submitted prior to 11:59 P.M. CT on the Entry Deadline date to be included in that drawing. I’ve claimed my prize and no longer have the ticket with the Webcode. How do I get that back? Texas Lottery rules prohibit a retailer from returning a cashed ticket. Enter your Webcode online at txlottery.org/luckzone before you claim your prize. Do I have to keep my MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB ticket after I enter the webcode? You will need to keep your ticket in order to claim any cash prize you may win. If you have not won a cash prize, once a ticket has been successfully entered, it does not need to be retained for this purpose of the Second Chance/Game Show drawing. When a player has collected a Property Set and receives entries into the drawing for the game show, are the entries valid for all drawings or are they discarded after each drawing? Completed property set entries are entered into the next available second-chance drawing for the MMC TV Game Show. Once the next available drawing occurs those entries are discarded. Properties posted on your MONOPOLY board and in reserves remain in your Luck Zone account until a Property Set is completed and entered into the next second-chance drawing. MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB ™ (MMC) FAQ When will the MONOPOLY TV Game Show air? The Top Prize is pari-mutuel and will be divided equally by the number of Top Prize winners.

Pennsylvania Lottery Profit Report As Required by Act 53 of 2008 2013 END OF FISCAL YEAR 2012-13 ANALYSIS The Pennsylvania Lottery set a new sales record for fiscal year 2012-13 of $3.700 billion, surpassing the $3.481 billion record set in fiscal year 2011-12 by $219 million or 6.3 percent. This is the third year in a row that the Lottery has set a record in total sales. The Lottery also achieved record profits of $1.067 billion for fiscal year 2012-13 which represents a $6.5 million or 0.6 percent increase over fiscal year 2011-12 total profits of $1.061 billion. This is the fourth year in a row that the Lottery has seen an increase in total profits. The Pennsylvania Lottery remains the only state lottery that designates all its proceeds to programs that benefit older residents. Since its inception in 1971, the Pennsylvania Lottery has contributed more than $23.7 billion to programs that include property tax and rent rebates; free and reduced-fare transit; the low-cost prescription drug programs PACE and PACENET; long-term living services; and the 52 Area Agencies on Aging, including full- and part-time senior centers throughout the state. As demand for Lottery funding increases, the Lottery must grow profits to satisfy that demand. Key ways to grow sales and profits include growing the Lottery retail network into additional points of distribution and broadening the player base, both concepts discussed herein. Profit can also be maximized when artificial sales barriers are removed, which is the foundation of this profit report and the legislative reprieve from Lottery’s 30 percent profit mandate.

Part I: Introduction “Perhaps the sentiments contained in the following pages are not yet sufficiently fashionable to procure them general favor; a long habit of not thinking a thing wrong gives it a superficial appearance of being right, and raises at first a formidable outcry in defense of custom. But the tumult soon subsides. Time makes more converts than reason.” -Thomas Paine, Common Sense (1776) “For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst and provide for it.” -Patrick Henry (1776) “I am aware that many object to the severity of my language; but is there not cause for severity? I will be as harsh as truth. On this subject I do not wish to think, or speak, or write, with moderation. No! No! Tell a man whose house is on fire to give a moderate alarm; tell him to moderately rescue his wife from the hands of the ravisher; tell the mother to gradually extricate her babe from the fire into which it has fallen -- but urge me not to use moderation in a cause like the present. The apathy of the people is enough to make every statue leap from its pedestal, and to hasten the resurrection of the dead.” -William Lloyd Garrison, The Liberator (1831) “Gas is running low . .” -Amelia Earhart (July 2, 1937) 1 2 Dear Reader, Civilization as we know it is coming to an end soon. • Parker Brothers Real Estate Trading Game in 1934, Charles B
Parker Brothers Real Estate Trading Game In 1934, Charles B. Darrow of Germantown, Pennsylvania, presented a game called MONOPOLY to the executives of Parker Brothers. Mr. Darrow, like many other Americans, was unemployed at the time and often played this game to amuse himself and pass the time. It was the game’s exciting promise of fame and fortune that initially prompted Darrow to produce this game on his own. With help from a friend who was a printer, Darrow sold 5,000 sets of the MONOPOLY game to a Philadelphia department store. As the demand for the game grew, Darrow could not keep up with the orders and arranged for Parker Brothers to take over the game. Since 1935, when Parker Brothers acquired the rights to the game, it has become the leading proprietary game not only in the United States but throughout the Western World. As of 1994, the game is published under license in 43 countries, and in 26 languages; in addition, the U.S. Spanish edition is sold in another 11 countries. OBJECT…The object of the game is to become the wealthiest player through buying, renting and selling property. EQUIPMENT…The equipment consists of a board, 2 dice, tokens, 32 houses and 12 hotels. There are Chance and Community Chest cards, a Title Deed card for each property and play money. PREPARATION…Place the board on a table and put the Chance and Community Chest cards face down on their allotted spaces on the board. Each player chooses one token to represent him/her while traveling around the board.

  • Anti-Monopoly Law
October 2002 China’s Draft Anti-Monopoly Law Paul, Weiss has recently obtained a draft of the Anti-Monopoly Law (the "AML") of the People's Republic of China ("PRC" or "China") dated February 26, 2002. We attach for your information the Paul, Weiss translation of the draft AML, and provide in this memorandum an initial analysis of the draft AML and other PRC statutes related to anti-monopoly review and regulation. The current draft is apparently not the final version, but as the AML has been in the drafting process since 1994, we believe it represents something close to the principles that will be reflected in the legislation if and when it is finally adopted. I. Outline of the AML A. General The AML governs three types of activities: (a) "activities restricting competition in market transactions" within China, (b) the "abuse of administrative powers to restrict competition" within China, and (c) activities outside China that violate the AML and that restrict or affect competition within China.1 In general, it regulates the activities of "operators," defined in Article 4 to mean legal persons and other organizations and individuals engaged in the production and operation of commodities or services. Article 4 further states that the term "commodities" under the AML includes services. Finally, "market" for purposes of the AML means a geographical area within which operators compete with respect to a given commodity over a certain period of time.2 A key element of the AML is its provision in Chapter 6 for the establishment of a new government agency charged with enforcement.

For Immediate Release April 2, 2020 Contact: Anna Domoto 515-453-1401 [email protected] Update – Game sales and interest rates to determine advertised Powerball jackpot Guaranteed starting jackpot amounts & minimum jackpot increases to be eliminated URBANDALE, Iowa – The Powerball Product Group today announced its decision to determine Powerball’s advertised jackpot based on game sales and interest rates. Following the April 8 drawing, guaranteed starting jackpot amounts and minimum jackpot increases will be eliminated, and future jackpot increases will be determined and announced by the Product Group prior to each drawing. Previously, Powerball® jackpots started at $40 million (annuity) and increased by a minimum of $10 million (annuity) between drawings. “These changes are necessary to ensure that ticket sales can support the Powerball jackpot and other lower-tier cash prizes,” said Gregg Mineo, Powerball Product Group Chairman and Maine Lottery Director. “Our number one priority is making sure that the Powerball game can continue to assist lotteries in raising proceeds for their beneficiaries.” The Powerball Product Group announced plans last week to reduce the starting jackpot to $20 million (annuity) and minimum jackpot increases to $2 million (annuity) between drawings. Those changes were scheduled to go into effect after the current jackpot was won. However, due to the evolving COVID-19 pandemic, the Powerball Product Group revisited the topic and decided Powerball’s advertised jackpot should be determined by game sales and interest rates effective following the drawing next Wednesday. “Since last week, more states and cities have asked their residents to stay at home, which has affected normal consumer behaviors and Powerball game sales,” said Mineo.

Monopoly: A Game of Strategy…Or Luck? EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Serene Li Hui Heng , Xiaojun Jiang , Cheewei Ng, Li Xue Alison Then Team 5, MS&E220 Autumn 2008 A popular board game since 1935, Monopoly is a game that may be dependent on both luck and strategy. A player can bet on his or her own luck alone, think carefully and buy up strategic properties, or use strategy to complement his or her luck to gain dominance in the game. Our report seeks to present our findings on the importance of strategy in Monopoly, as well as which strategies are the most successful. So is Monopoly a game of strategy, or luck, or both? Our methodology involved examining the inter-relationships between the various factors in the game, for example, the throw of the 2 dice, the number of throws that a player has played, the number of rounds he is in, accounting for jail and rent etc. After establishing the inter-relations, we built up our model by gradually adding more factors (which increase uncertainty) that affect the game, and thereby incorporated more realism into the model. We thus proceeded to build 3 main models, by using dynamic equations. First we used the propagation of probability flow method to determine the chances of landing on a particular square in a given number of throws (Model 1). Next, we included regeneration points in the case where jail is considered (Model 2). Lastly, from the probability flow sequences obtained, we calculated the expected value of landing on each square on the board, taking into account the rents paid and $200 that a player gets each time after he passes a round, to analyze the wealth effect when multiple players are involved (Model 3).
