Topic 1 Race with World Sailing! World Sailing Sustainability Education Programme Supported by 1 2 Topic 1 | Race with World Sailing Welcome to the World Sailing Sustainability Education Programme! World Sailing started in 1907 in Paris and is the world governing body for the sport of sailing. The organisation promotes sailing internationally, manages the sailing at the Olympics and Paralympics, develops the racing rules of sailing, and supports sailors from all over the world. World Sailing is formed of national authorities in 145 countries as well as 115 classes of boat. World Sailing wants its sailors to share their love of sailing, while working together to protect the waters of the world. Sailing is part of a global movement to create change and positive impact, and you can be a part of this through your actions, on and off the water. To help sailors do this, there is a plan, called World Sailing’s Sustainability Agenda 2030. This plan describes changes within sailing that will help achieve 12 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and maximise the positive effect that sailors can have on the environment. The agenda was put together by a sustainability commission made up of experts and after lots of feedback it was adopted in May 2018 by all 145 member national authorities. There are 56 separate targets grouped under 6 recommendations. This education programme contributes to the recommendation to ‘Deliver Sustainability through Training’. The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals were published in 2015 to end extreme poverty, fight inequality and injustice and combat climate change by 2030.

  • Sponsorship Effects on Music Festival Participants
Copenhagen Business School 2014 MSoc.Sc.Service Management MASTER’S THESIS Sponsorship Effects on Music Festival Participants Victor Guedon David Gramm Kristensen February, 5th, 2014 Supervisor Helle Haurum 111 Pages / 267.755 Characters Abstract While worldwide investments in sole sponsorship fees were expected to reach $53.3 billion in 2013, findings from the academic research on sponsorships’ ability to impact customers’ perception of a sponsor are inconsistent; ranging from positive, small or ambiguous effects to negative or no effects at all. Thus, the objective of the current research was to contribute by researching if participation in a music festival, NorthSide 2013, would influence festival participants’ perception of the main sponsor Royal Beer. To do so, the chosen research design was a pre-post event quasi experimental design with independent samples. It was crucial to have both pre and post event measurements of event participants to investigate a potential change. Moreover, the quasi-experimental strategy was deemed relevant since it features the use of a control group to identify the source of an effect. Identified as one of the reasons for the inconsistent academic findings, the aim was to avoid conscious processing of the respondents by eliciting sponsorships or the two entities together, so that answers collected would account for the effects rather than respondents’ opinions about how this sponsorship affected them. In pursuance of this research several practical steps have been undertaken: a thorough literature review, a face-to-face interview of the Royal Beer brand manager, creation of a beer brand personality scale fitted to the Danish setting, a focus group to translate the brand personality facets and most importantly; the design and data collection of three distinct questionnaires that resulted in a total of 950 valid responses.

  • Bilag 2.

World Sailing News eSailGP Championship returns with new innovations for 2021 With less than three weeks before the eight international teams meet on the water in Bermuda for the league's return to racing, SailGP today launched the 2021 eSailGP Championship. Building on the success of the inaugural season, which saw more than 146,000 unique players take part across 55,783 individual races, fans will have a chance to test their skills piloting one of the most innovative race boats in the world in a virtual environment on new courses and with new-look boats. The Championship winner will be rewarded with an all-inclusive package to a SailGP event in 2022 and a place in the 2021 eSailing World Championship Final. In partnership with World Sailing and Virtual Regatta, the championship will feature six qualification events over the course of the first half of the season, with a spot in the eSailGP Grand Final on October 15 up for grabs for the winners. The eSailGP Grand Final will see the two gamers with the highest points after three fleet races face off in a single winner-takes-all match race. Two wildcard berths will also be available at the final for a female player and a youth player, who will be selected by a panel of judges. This initiative is in line with SailGP's immediate focus on the advancement of gender equity and its program to fast-track the training and development of female athletes for participation in SailGP. eSailGP Season 1 amassed 753,000 views on SailGP's social platforms and the league has been working to further bring the live shows to life for players and followers, including enhanced graphics, explainer videos and a reinforced expert commentary team.

News | Q1 | 2021 1 World Sailing News | Q1 | 2021 Presidential Welcome It is an honour to introduce you to the first edition of World Sailing News. Upon my election last November, I outlined my intention for World Sailing to communicate better with its Member National Authorities, Regional Associations, Class Associations, Committee members, and the hard-working volunteers that make our sport work, from the grassroots to the peak of performance. I hope that the introduction of these quarterly newsletters will help to achieve that. Open communication within our sport has always been important, but given the current climate, it is more crucial now than it has ever been. It is important that World Sailing takes the lead by sharing best practice, forming new ideas and creating inspiring content that touches all aspects of our sport. It is also vital that this material is well distributed across our community. It is a pity that we have not been able to meet face to face for so long, but I have enjoyed meeting and engaging with you directly and via our Regional Meetings. It is important that our dialogue works two ways so we can work together to grow the beautiful sport we all love. Quanhai Li President 2 World Sailing News | Q1 | 2021 CEO Welcome On one hand, it has been a At the 2020 Council Meeting, I made a pledge to improve very pleasant quarter for the our communication and engagement with our members, World Sailing community as and this new quarterly World Sailing News is part of that numerous sailing events have pledge.
