Damian McGinty Concert at SMSM On Monday, March 25th member, Damian McGinty visited SMSM School for an educational and inspirational private performance and assembly with our students. Damian, who was born and raised in Ireland, joined the group Celtic Thunder at age 14. He has toured with Celtic Thunder several times and starred in many PBS specials over the past decade. He also acted and performed on the hit TV show, . Along with many other accomplishments, he has most recently, released his debut album, Young For- ever, and is currently touring the U.S. and Canada as a solo artist. After his performance Damian discussed his career with the students, as well as growing up in Ireland and some interesting facts that make Ireland dif- ferent from the United States.   Thank you to school board chair Rebecca Somaini for organizing this wonderful experience! Also, a big thank you to Ezra from the Barre Opera House for setting up and managing all of the sound equipment, and turning the cafeteria into a concert hall! Diocesan Professional Development Day Over 170 Catholic School administrators, teachers and staff gathered at St. MonicaSt. Michael School on Fri- day, March 29 for a Diocesan Professional Development day. Aime Konwinski of the Smart Girl Society pre- sented on empowering smart choices with social media and apps in our digital world. In the afternoon, groups met by grade levels and content areas to discuss curriculum and share strategies that support student learning. The day ended with Mass celebrated by Fr. Julian Asucan, assisted on the altar by Deacon Gesualdo Schnei- der of St. Augustine parish and Mr. Ron Routhier of St. Monica Parish.
