History & Honours Board
History & Honours Board History of the event The New Zealand Women’s Match Racing Championships have been held at the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron since 2000 when Amy Waring representing the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron was the first winner and received the Leith Mossman Memorial Trophy. Leith Mossman - an inspiration to us all! Leith Mossman packed more into her 45 years than most of us would in a lifetime. An avid sailor, she raced on many yachts in Auckland, including Krasna (Townsend 36), The V Team (Farr 1020), Rhythm (S&S 45) to Fiji, Brightstone - Sydney-Hobart, Share Delight and Waiwera Naturally Hot (Mumm 30). Leith was always full of enthusiasm and fun, whether racing with the boys, with the girls, matchracing, fleet racing or offshore - an inspiration to us all. Unfortunately she lost her battle with breast cancer in 1998. The Leith Mossman Memorial was donated to the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron by the New Zealand Women’s Yachting Trust in 2000 in memory of our friend Leith. The Trophy is the principal prize for the annual New Zealand Women’s Match Racing Championships. In 2002 MATIS joined and added a feminine touch to the prizegiving with their donated MATIS product for the competitors. The RNZYS intermitantly hosted the NZ Women’s Match Race Championships between 2010-2018. In 2019 the event was revitalised hosting 5 international teams. The 2020 event saw a great increase in women participation hosting 7 New Zealand teams despite a number of restrictions and barriers due to Covid-19 regulations and guidelines. -
Glendowie News
glendowie news Friday, 14th October 2016 Kia Ora Welcome back to term four … a very busy term both as students focus on their academic studies Upcoming Events: and we celebrate students' achievements through 2016. October On Wednesday we enjoyed the annual Arts 14 Film Festival (Awards Evening) (7.30pm, Hall) Awards. The evening was a celebration of our students' talent and creativity. Congratulations to 15 GDC Rowing Ceilidh (Kay-lee) Fundraising Night (7pm, Hall) all of the students who won awards and/or who 19 Board of Trustees Meeting performed in the evening. A very big thank you (6pm) to the students and staff who put this evening together. It was a 20 Sports Awards Evening wonderful night. 24 Labour Day At assembly this week, my message was clear and simple. Students' 26 2017 Year 9 Testing Day primary focus this term is academic success. It's all about excellence. (8.15am) Olympic gold medallist, Mahé Drysdale, said that he had learned over his 27 Service Awards Assembly various regattas that the most important thing in achieving success is focussing on the process, not the outcome. On his technique, not the 27 Parents’ Association Meeting (7pm) medal. The same is true for our senior students. By now they should be into a November planned programme of study. All year 11, 12 and 13 students should 2 Senior Prizegiving know: (7pm, Hall) what … internal standards they have left to complete 9 NCEA Exams Start … external standards they will be sitting 15 Pacific Whānau Hui (6.30pm) … is the content of each external standard 22 Taurere Whānau (6.30pm) … she or he must do to get excellence or merit when … their exams are 23 Board of Trustees Meeting, (6pm) … they are going to study – each week and each night who … they will study with (friends and classmates) 23 Teacher Only Day … they can talk to (e.g. -

J-0, Le Plateau Prend Ses Marques 60 Bateaux, 24 Nations Et Un Vent Accueillant. Victor Kovalenko, Le Sorcier Revient À Marseil
