The raw materials in the brick kilns include soil, coal, paddy husk, fly ash, wood & locally available agro wastes to some extent. There are large variations in quality of soils available in different parts of the country and also in brick manufacturing process. Brick are good building material for construction activities. It is one of the primary building materials known to mankind. Over time, bricks have appeared, gained prominence, lost importance and then come to the forefront again with various styles of architecture. Burnt bricks were used in ancient Indian, Babylon, Egypt and Roman civilizations. With the increase of urbanization the demand for Bricks is growing in infrastructure sector in our country. Individual and private companies are increasingly demanding Brick for construction purposes and this has immense pressure on brick clay resources. This increasing demand and extraction makes this an environmental issue. As per Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986, vide number S.O. 2588 (E), dated 15th Jan, 2016) the applicant is seeking prior environmental clearance, therefore applicant has submitted for mine plan for proposed earth extraction which used in Brick Kiln of M/s Chaudhary Brick Field from Khasra/ Gata No. 224, Area- 3.705 Hectare (9.15 Acre) at Village - Parsohiya, Tappa- Dhebarua, Tehsil- Shohratgarh, District- Siddharth Nagar, Uttar Pradesh of Sri Izhar Ahmad S/o Sri Yaar Mohammad R/o Village – Teuwa Grant, Tehsil- Itwa, District- Siddharth Nagar, Uttar Pradesh. Naugarh town is the district headquarters. Siddharth Nagar district is a part of Basti division. Siddharthnagar district lies between 27°N to 27°28'N and 82°45'E to 83°10'E. It is part of Purvanchal. The district borders Nepal's Kapilvastu district on the north and Rupandehi district on the northeast. Otherwise it is surrounded by other districts of Uttar Pradesh: Maharajganj on the east, Basti and Sant Kabir Nagar on the south, and Balrampur on the west. Siddarth Nagar's area is 2,752 km2 (Source: http://siddharthnagar.nic.in). The district is a part of indo- Gangetic plain of north- east India. It is a level with gradual slope from north to south. The middle part is deep in the east area REGIONAL GEOLOGY The Ganga basin has been dominated by transvers river system since Pliocene age due to erosion during uplift that is symmetric subsidence of foreland. College, Balrampur (U.P.), India Abstract An attempt was made to study the conservation status of the fishes naturally occurring in Semara taal, near Shohratgarh of Siddharthnagar district of Uttar Pradesh. The study was conducted during Jan. to Dec. 2018. During exploration, a total of 29 species of fishes belonging to 20 genera, 15 families and 8 orders were identified. As per latest version of IUCN Red List, out of 29 species of fishes identified, 1 species comes under EN (endangered), 3 species come under NT (near threatened), 19 under LC (least concern) and 6 species are NE (not evaluated) so far. Introduction Fishes are not only source of low-fat, high-quality proteinous food for human being but also a good source of omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin D, vitamin B2, calcium, phosphorus, iodine, iron, zinc, magnesium and potassium. The fish diversity is subjected to the changes in land and water resulting into substantial losses of fishes and remaining species may be at a risk. Fish species inhabiting in lentic fresh water bodies have to live under harsher and more variable conditions and they may put to extra ordinary stress because of human interventions.
