My Dear Parishioners,

Life is a matter of atti- tude. The great motiva- tional speakers tell us that. And today’s Gospel lesson extends that idea to our lives of faith. When it comes to the Chris- Saturday, July 11— Benedict tian life, having the right attitude makes all the difference in the world. 9:00 Thomas (Ummy) Umholtz Vigil: Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time Jesus is teaching by the Sea of Galilee. FIFTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

Procedures for Sunday Mass:

We will resume celebrating Sunday Mass with a congregation in church beginning the weekend of July 4-5. It is important that we all maintain proper social distancing. Until further notice, we will preserve the schedule of Saturday Evening Mass at 5:00. Sunday Masses will be celebrated at 9 AM and 11 AM. These times have been chosen so that there is adequate time to sanitize the Church for the next group of people. 1.) Please wear a mask. The Church is a public place. Kindly arrive shortly before Mass begins. Time will be needed to sanitize pews before Mass. Please enter through the doors which will be propped open. In this way you can avoid contact with door handles. 2.) There will be some hand sanitizer available in the rear of the church. We strongly recommend, however, that you bring your own hand sanitizer so as to avoid contagion from the pump bottles. 3.) To maintain social distancing, every 2nd pew has been closed off. While families and married couples may sit together, please do not sit closer than 6 feet to the person next to you. 4.) Please use discretion in respecting other people’s boundaries and do not come closer than the recommended six feet. 5.) Please take a parish bulletin on your way into Church. Hymnals have been removed from the pews for safety sake. The words of the hymns and other worship aids will be included in our parish bulletins. Please take your bulletins home with you and do not leave them in the pew. 6.) Holy Communion will be distributed after Mass. The priest and deacon will distribute commun- ion from the rear of the church. After receiving communion, please do not return to the church. The church will need to be sanitized before the next group of people arrive. 7.) Please do not remove your mask until just ready to receive Holy Communion. We strongly en- courage that you receive communion in the hand as a sanitary measure. Communion on the tongue is permitted. 8.) The priest will have a bottle of hand sanitizer next to him. He may sanitize his hands between communicants if he feels it is necessary. 9.) We strongly recommend taking a few minutes after returning to your cars to make a thanks- giving after communion. Prayers will be printed in the parish bulletin. 10.) Please be conscious that after each Mass or any other gathering, the church needs to be san- itized. We ask that you be considerate to people doing this work by exiting the church immediately after Mass. Kindly do not leave anything in the pews or gathering area. Please do not congregate with anyone on church grounds after Mass. This would violate CDC guidelines. Thank you for your consideration. Please be safe! Please be respectful!

On Sunday, October 25th of this year, our parish will celebrate the 100th anniversary of its founding. Our Bishop and parish son, Most Reverend Alfred A Schlert will be with us to preside at the celebration of a 3 PM Mass, and im- mediately following the Mass, we will come together for a celebratory dinner at the Blue Grillhouse on Easton Avenue.

Tickets for this celebration will go on sale in the parish office this weekend, July 11-12. Cost is $50. You may also purchase a ticket during regular hours from our Parish Office.

Mass Intentions – The priests of St. Jane have been offering Masses for your intentions, and will be happy to continue to receive your intentions for individual Masses. We continue to schedule dai- ly Mass intentions on particular dates based on availability. This is not the case with weekend Mass- es. Because of the uncertainty of our schedule during this COVID-19 PANDEMIC, it has become dif- ficult to predict what our schedule will be. And so, only weekday intentions will be scheduled until further notice. Thank you!!

Catholic Charities Food Drive: July 18 and 25 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at (Planet Fitness Parking Lot 3134 William Penn Highway, Easton, PA18045). Even though we are leaving the church immediately after receiving Holy Communion, it is so very im- portant in our spiritual lives for us to pause and recognize Christ’s Eucharistic presence within us. Traditionally, the period after communion is a time of intense personal prayer for the believer. We in- vite you to take that time in your cars before leaving the church parking lot. Below are two prayers that can be used, either individually, or they can be prayed aloud in a group or as a family:

Prayers after communion:

Anima Christi

Soul of Christ, sanctify me. Body of Christ, save me. Blood of Christ, inebriate me. Water from the side of Christ, wash me. Passion of Christ, strengthen me. O Good Jesus, hear me. Within Thy wounds hide me. Suffer me not to be separated from thee. From the malignant enemy defend me. In the hour of my death call me. And bid me come unto Thee, That with all Thy , I may praise thee Forever and ever. Amen.

What has passed our lips as food, O Lord, may we possess in purity of heart, that what is given to us in time, be our healing for eternity.

May Your Body, O Lord, which I have eaten, and Your Blood which I have drunk, cleave to my very soul, and grant that no trace of sin be found in me, whom these pure and holy mysteries have renewed.

Who live and reign, world without end. Amen. We humbly beseech You, almighty god, to grant that those whom You refresh with Your sacraments, may serve you worthily by a life well pleasing to You. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, Who lives and reigns, world without end. Amen.

A Plea and a Special Thank You from Monsignor Radocha Even as we deal with these unusual circumstances amid the pandemic, I have been greatly encouraged by those of you who continue to support our parish! I know that many in our parish have be affected personally by this tragedy. Many more have experienced some financial distress. Still, so many have continued to mail or drop off contributions, and still others have opted to support our parish with online donations. If you would like to contribute electronically, simply go to our website, scroll down to “donate,” and follow the simple direc- tions. Again, thanks to all for your help as we continue to live through this difficult period!

Because of our ongoing deficit, we have also begun a special “COVID-19 Relief Fund." I want to thank all of you who have so generously contributed toward it! As it stands presently, $135,911 has been contributed toward this fund, reducing the deficit in giving to approximately $50,000. If you have not yet made your contribution, please consider helping your parish in this particular time of need! Again, I want thank all of you who have so gener- ously responded to this appeal, and to the many parishioners who continue to support our parish on a regular basis by means of weekly envelopes or online giving!
