Boozman College of Public Health, University of Arkansas Medical Sciences, Little Rock, Arkansas. • February 2016 – present: State Chronic Disease Director. In addition to serving in the role of the Medical Director for Chronic Disease Prevention and Control Branch; and Associate Director for Science, Center for Health Advancement, I was named as the State Chronic Disease Director by the Director of the Arkansas Department of Health. In this capacity, I represent Arkansas at the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors (NACDD) and facilitate dialogue, networking, and collaboration between chronic disease program activities across the states, and work with NACDD and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). • July 2017 – February 2018: Interim Branch Chief, Chronic Disease Prevention and Control Branch. Provide programmatic, administrative, and personnel oversight for all the Chronic Disease Prevention and Control Branch programs (Heart Disease and Stroke Section, Diabetes Section, Nutrition and Physical Activity Section, and Cancer Section) and their staff. Hold fiduciary responsibility for over 13 million dollars in federal and state funds. • July 2013-present: Medical Director, Chronic Disease Prevention and Control Branch, & Associate Director for Science, Center for Health Advancement, & State Chronic Disease Epidemiologist, Arkansas Department of Health. - As the Medical Director, I direct primary and preventive clinical care services, supervise Advanced Practice Nurses and Nurse Practitioners engaged in clinical service delivery, approve practice protocols, provide telephone consultation and takes calls. Also, I oversee all the chronic disease prevention and control activities for the State of Arkansas, as directed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Arkansas Department of Health leadership. These chronic diseases include Heart Disease and Stroke, Diabetes, Breast and Cervical Cancer screening program, Colorectal cancer screening, Nutrition and Physical Activity. Provide oversight to chronic disease prevention and control grants totaling an annual budget of 13 million dollars - As the Associate Director for Science, I oversee the scientific aspects of all the branches in the Center for Health Advancement at the Arkansas Department of Health. These branches include Chronic Disease Prevention and Control, Family Health, Oral Health, Nutrition/WIC, and Tobacco Prevention and Cessation branch. - As the State Chronic Disease Epidemiologist, I was involved developing the, ‘Guidelines for Investigating Clusters of Chronic Diseases’, and was involved in evaluating and addressing several suspected clusters of chronic diseases in the State. 3 • September 2013 – present: Clinical Assistant Professor (Adjunct), Department of Family and Preventive Medicine, University of Arkansas Medical Sciences, Little Rock, Arkansas. - Provide direct patient care, and precept clinical care provided by Family Medicine residents at the UAMS Family Medical Center clinic. • September 2004 – present: Assistant Professor (Adjunct), Department of Epidemiology, Fay W.
