W. 7th Street Historic District Pulaski County, AR Name of Property County and State rnited States Department of the Interior ational Park Service National Register of Historic Places Continuation Sheet Section number ---7 Page 1 SUMMARY The West 7th Street Historic District in Little Rock, Arkansas, contains thirteen commercial buildings representing the commercial development of the city in the first half of the twentieth century. All but one of the buildings were constructed prior to 1958 and 69% of the buildings in the historic district had been built by 1940. Ten (77%) buildings contribute to the historic significance of the district. ELABORATION Located near the Arkansas State Capitol, the West ih Street Historic District is comprised of thirteen commercial buildings constructed between 1906 and 1951. Seventh Street is an east/west corridor through the central business district of Little Rock. In the blocks east of Main Street, East 7th Street remains largely 0 sidential while West 7th Street
