Halloween - One Day Macabre One of the more somber days on most calendars around the world, principally the Gregorian, is the day of Halloween. A Heretica, morbidb and obscurec celebration, which denotes an extreme bad taste, with respect to the celebration that we do in memory of something (or someone); as if this something (or someone) were worthy remembering, every year, including with a specific day, in celebration and joy, and all prestige. Halloween is a festival celebrated mainly in countries where English is the official language. But it also has a great influence on countries that absorb American culture (USA), as it happens here in Brazil. The origin of this celebration was over 3,000 years ago. Known in Brazil as the day of the Witches, Halloween is celebrated every year on October 31st. The celebration takes place in the context of Allhallowtided, three days dedicated to the observation and remembrance of the dead, souls and all the saints. The history of the festivities of this diabolical celebration has its origin in the period between the years 600 b.C. and 800 A.D. as a tradition of the Celtic peoples. In this context, Halloween celebrations have been going on for over 3 thousand years. However (and as always), there are some contradictions about the beginning of the festival, as well as its origin. At first, the beginning of this celebration had nothing to do with witches. In fact, this period, dated in the Celtic calendar, was called "Samhain festival". This name means end of summer and it happened between October 30th and November 2nd, symbolizing the end of summer time. In addition, the Samhain festival celebrates the beginning of a new year, which for the Celts took place on November 1. Including, it was during this period, according to them, that the souls of the dead returned to the world of the living to visit their relatives and to warm themselves by the fireplace. The Celtic people believed that the place of the dead was symbolized by much happiness and had no hunger or pain. However, with the arrival of Christianity, this celebration was being molded to the formats of the Catholic Church. From then on, the festivity became associated with Halloween and considered a pagan celebration. In an attempt to remove the pagan character from the party and try to insert it into the Christian milieu, the Catholic Church began to celebrate All Saints Day on November 1. In this way, Christian dogmas and principles were mixed (the distort way) with this pagan festival, relating its tradition to religiosity. Thus, the name Halloween came to represent this period, since the word hallow means "saint" and eve equally "eve". In this way, the celebration came to be understood as the time preceding the celebration of All Saints' Day, that is, it is the celebration of the eve of All Saints' Day, dedicated to the deceased faithful, martyrs and saints. In the light of the Holy Bible, this is yet another celebration that affronts the true Christian faith, and the Word of the Living God, by emphasizing death and the dead, relating them to the world of the living and mixing everything in a context of witches, elves, fairies, etc. Things that have no support in the Word of God. On the contrary, all of this is considered to be a great sin before God; provoking His wrath on those who practice such things. In the Old Testament (Old Covenant), the Lord God, according to the promise he had made to his servant Abraham to deliver his people, after 400 years of slavery (Genesis 15:13-15), fulfilled the word of his promise, taking them out of the yoke of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, with power and great glory, and working signs and wonders; through Moses. After that, he led them through the desert to Mount Sinai (the mountain of God). And when he got there, he presented His "Ten Commandments" to them, in addition to a series of ordinances and rules of conduct that the Lord called "Law". With severe determinations, and with the purpose of lapidary their people, they were taught how they should be and present themselves before the "Almighty God", in order to sanctify themselves (because it is written: "45For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy." - Leviticus 11:45). I did summari this epic biblical event, which is still remarkable today for the nation of Israel, in order to show how serious the question of obeying the laws of the Lord is. And within a range of guidelines and norms (for the law was severe) a warning was given, through the mouth of God Himself, to Moses, his servant, who wrote it in full, saying: "9When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. 10There shall not be found among you [any one] that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, [or] that useth divination, [or] an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, 11Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. 12For all that do these things [are] an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee. 13Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God." (Deuteronomy 18:9-13). These peoples, which the Lord quoted in verse 9 above, did everything quoted, and even more: Feasts and ceremonies to celebrate their gods and goddesses (which were many). Contrary to the first commandment of the Lord, which says: "3Thou shalt have no other gods before me." (Exodus 20:3). Then someone will say, "But we don't adore it, we just kidding around at a fun event". And I ask: Do you kidding at an event dressed up as disfigured demons and monsters, and everything else bad? Where's God in that? If you don't worship God by celebrating His Glory, Majesty and Holiness, you can be only be valuing those who oppose the Lord God. That is, Satan. Which indirectly is represented in everything bad that is shown on Halloween. Or do you think the devil is sleeping in that day? Stay there; hidden in hell? Of course not, right? In addition to the fact, that he obsessively wants to be like the true God and does everything he can to feel himself as such, even in situations that don't even reach that much, as god in letter lowercase, that he disfigures himself to be. Look at what is said in Isaiah 14: "13For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High." (Isaiah 14:13,14). According to theology, this sequence of verses mentions Satan before he was expelled from heaven. And look what God replied: "15Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit." (Isaiah 14:15). Did you notice the similarity of verse 15 with the Halloween scenario? With the dead? A party with a Mephistophelice tone that makes a point of showing the darkness of the night in most of the images that it represents (like the image that illustrates the title of the study on this website), with witches and pumpkins with scary faces. All that is lack of light is darkness, agree? So pay attention to what the Holy Scriptures say. Em I John, the author named after the letter says: "5(...) that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all." (I John 1:5). Now, it being God is light, as the Word says, and there is no darkness in Him, then it is deduced that Halloween, which has darkness, has nothing of God. Is obvious. COME OUT OF DARKNESS AND COME INTO THE LIGHT! COME TO JESUS, THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD! HALLELUJAH! "And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not." (John 1:5) The whole world is in darkness; and Halloween is a reflection of that. The apostle John said in his letter: "19(...) and the whole world lieth in wickedness." (I John 5:19). But there is a detail in this statement: "Darkness and the Evil One, are only for those who do not follow Jesus". For, "12Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." (John 8:12). With Jesus the statement is notorious: "16The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up." (Matthew 4:16). "which sat in darkness" means "to be dead spiritually". It be in "region and shadow of death", means "to be in the practice of sin"; in the mundane system that herds you and imprisons you through the blackness of ignorance and the lack of full consciousness with regard to hit, or error, such as overwhelming stream in a storm of "not knowing who or what to believe in". A stumbling of misrepresentation and illegality in an endless abyss; in the turpitude of a wandering and ungodly life; without God.
