Welcome and Introduction

• Priti Shrestha, welcomed participants and facilitated a round of introduction with the team.

Presentation on provision of follow-up support to out-of-school adolescent girls and young women who completed vocational skills training in Rautahat and Sarlahi districts (RFP-006) and Provision of follow-up support to out-of-school adolescent girls and young women who completed vocational skills training in Achham, Bajura and Sunsari districts (RFP-006)” Ms. Priti Shrestha, Programme Officer, provided a brief overview of a provision of follow-up support to out-of-school adolescent girls and young women who completed vocational and entrepreneurship development skills training. She also briefed about the background of the assignment to provide a follow-up support to out-of-school adolescent girls and young women who completed vocational and entrepreneurship development skills training in Achham, Bajura and Sunsari (RFP-006) and Rautahat and Sarlahi (RFP-007).

Presentation on rationale, scope of activities, key deliverables, methodology, time and location and reporting Ms. Priti Shrestha, Programme Officer of Economic Empowerment Unit, presented on the rationale, scope of activities, key deliverables, methodology, time and location and reporting to what extent do the WEE activities undertaken by UN Women Nepal. She also highlighted the requirement of submission of the responsive proposal with due consideration of all the required elements.

Ms. Binu Manandhar, Admin. Assistant of UN Women briefly presented on the operational procedures of the selection processes, cumulative analysis methodology and minimum requirement to apply for this assignment.

Question and answer:

Q: Can the company without 5 years of experience apply? A: Any applying agencies need to fulfil eligibility criteria as a lead agency as indicated in the RFP. Agencies with limited experience are encouraged to consider forming a consortium with an organization which meets all the eligibility criteria and apply.

Q: Do applying agencies need to have both PAN and VAT? A: Organization should he registered either in PAN or in VAT as per the Government’s regulation/ threshold.

Q: Can you please provide list of trade in which women were trained? A: A list of trade can be provided after signing the contract.

Q: We found the mistake in the names of Rautahat. Some are now wards. A: Some of the municipality names were from training activities in 2017 AD. Although the names of some Municipality has changed, the working area and women remains the same. Updated list of Municipalities is as following: SN Palikas from Rautahat SN Palikas From Sarlahi

Q: What do you mean by large scale training experience? A: We expect the service providers to manage 1500 / 2500 participants, so we expect who has the capacity of working with the given no of beneficiaries.

Q: Social norms are different in different communities. Can you provide the information on which communities that UN women has selected for this assignment? A: A list of the Municipalities in provided in Annex 13. Details of participants will be provided after the contract has been signed.

Q: Who are the beneficiaries and aged limit? A: Beneficiaries are women and girls from the given five districts aged 16-24 years who have been provided with vocational skills training by Un women under the Education Joint Project.

Q: For the income generation it would be helpful if a research component is there to see the changes of impact with baseline and endline data? A: Due to time constraint, a research component is not included in this assignment.

Q: How to bring about change in social norms in such short duration? A: The service provider agency is not expected to change social norms in short period of time and it is not an objective of this assignment.

Q: Is it possible to carry out the Project only 8 months’ time? is there a possibility of extension? A: This is a UN Joint project that will end in the given time frame. So the project period is only 8 months and cannot be extended.

Q: Is the training conduct by CTEVT? A: No.

Q: Has the training beneficiaries received any support after the training? A: The proposed follow-up support is the first attempt to support participants after the training.

Q: Can the proposal be sent through email with scanned version of signature and stamp? Can we use the electronic version of signature and stamp while sending it through email? A: Yes, you can submit the hard copy as well as soft copy. You should submit the technical and financial proposals in dedicated email addresses [email protected] and [email protected] respectively.

Q: Can bid be submitted during weekend? A: Yes, you can submit the bid during weekend until the deadline date and time. Also, the proposal can be submitted to the security guard during weekend.

Q: Can applying agency still request the clarification after the pre-bid meeting? A: Yes, the bidder can request written clarification to email [email protected] by 7 days before the proposal submission deadline, as mentioned in the RFP.
