Fate - Anakin (Template) Fate - Anakin (Template) A subtemplate of the Fate template, Anakin started as a circumstance alt of Anakin Skywalker, and grew from there. Anakin Skywalker and Xena are foundational members. About Anakin (Template) Anakin Skywalker (calling-my-name) Anakin Skywalker (stay-awake) About Anakin (Template) Anakin The Anakin sub-template is part of the Fate template, the main template of Heartsbloods. Personality Origins This sub-template began with a Fate circumstance alted as Anakin Skywalker from Star Wars for one girl revolution, a Star Wars rewrite by Decima and Diaeresis. Xena is also a foundational member of the template, due to parallels between her story and Anakin's. Xena often serves as the pattern for Hero or otherwise post-Warlord Anakins. Name Attractors Anakins have no set name patterns. However, unlike most members of their template-group, they usually keep their birth name or some variant of it. The Warlord and Mirror clusters often, but not always, adopt different names. Attractors Always female or cultural/ species/ societal equivalent Pansexual Switch Both sadistic and masochistic Fights for freedom and against fate Will not betray allies Father figures and mentor figures are important, and can sometimes be the same character (though usually aren't) Clusters The Anakin template has primarily temporal clusters, which she mostly moves through in order. Different stages have different character accounts. The clusters are: Early (Anakin starts out seriously trying to be good, pro-social, or what someone she cares about might want her to be) Warlord (Anakin proceeds to have a meltdown or reach a breaking point, and generally proceeds to go for violent conquest) Hero (Anakin eventually hits rock bottom and is redeemed by someone she cares deeply for, deciding to retire - and then coming out of retirement because fuck, the world needs fixing, doesn't it. Sometimes she manages this without someone else redeeming her) Mirror (Sometimes something weird happens to one of the other clusters, usually a Warlord or Hero, resulting in a clone or an Anakin with amnesia.) Associated Characters Heartsbloods, by Decima: Ares: A common father for Anakins, especially those more in the mold of Xena. Ares is always a god of war, though, or a similar story role, and cannot appear in worlds without those. Ares tends to move between ally and enemy as the whim strikes him. Palpatine: A common father for Anakins, especially those more in the mold of Anakin Skywalker. Palpatine is always a manipulator and always an antagonist. Palpatine ~ Lily: A sub-template of Palpatines. Unlike the main members, Lily tends to be more concerned with those she cares about. She so far is usually a student of a Fate; when she's the student of an Anakin, there's a good chance there's also a Palpatine-main around in Anakin's backstory. Jade: Sometimes a subordinate or ally (often reluctantly) of Anakins. Ling: Sometimes a subordinate or friend of Anakins. Fuchsias, by ChaosMagic: Leia and Luke: Anakin's template children Leia Kids: Jacen, Jaina, and baby Anakin. These are Anakin's grandchildren. Shmi Skywalker: Anakin's mother. So far not a template. Others Ellie: A Diaeresis character. Ellies are frequently girlfriends of Anakin, or otherwise important Kaylee: A Rotifer character. Has been an Anakin girlfriend at least once, and likely will again. Recommended Threads one girl revolution: A Star Wars rewrite Authors: Decima and Diaeresis Prerequisites: Familiarity with Star Wars Warnings: past slavery and child abuse, future unwanted pregnancy War in Love's Despite: A Star Wars rewrite Authors: ChaosMagic, Decima, and Rotifer Prerequisites: Familiarity with Star Wars Warnings: slavery, child abuse Legends: A Marvel Comics rewrite, focusing on kid Loki and the House of M Authors: ChaosMagic and Decima Prerequisites: Familiarity with Marvel 616 (Journey into Mystery, House of M, Young Avengers) Warnings: amnesia, bullying, child soldiers, fantastical racism, major character death, nonconsensual mind control, nonconsensual mind reading, violence a dream in my lonely mind: Anakin Skywalker in Neverwinter Authors: AndaisQ and Decima Prerequisites: War in Love's Despite. Familiarity with Neverwinter and the Forgotten Realms probably helps. Anakin Skywalker (calling-my- name) "We all do the best we can," she says, softly, not letting her blooming this is wrong and I will end it show on her face. (But it is, and she will. The future is ever in motion, after all - and so is Anakin.) Anakin Skywalker (calling-my-name) is a glowfic character in the Anakin (Decima) template, written by Decima. She is part of the Early cluster of her template, representing prequels era Anakin Skywalker. She is a circumstance alt of canon Anakin, rather than an actual representation of him. Anakin's personality is highly influenced by her narrative arc - which Jedi teacher she has and which love interest she has are particularly strong, there. She usually starts out fairly flippant and vicious as a child, uncaring of whether people she doesn't care about suffer, and prone to solving problems with violence first. She tends to grow in fits and starts towards a more nuanced, deeper philosophy, and usually finds herself wrestling with ideals of pacifism, universal sapient rights, freedom, and loyalty. Anakin is the base member of the Anakin sub-template. She tends to, however, have a far stronger philosophical foundation before going into the Warlord phase (and can even outright avert it, unlike most Anakins), but she also tends to fall much farther and end up more miserable if she does hit the Warlord phase. Cluster: Early (phase) Setting: Star Wars (prequels era) Other Names: Ani (rare nickname) Facecast: Isabelle Fuhrman Screenname Origin: the song "Vulture, Vulture" by Of Monsters and Men. All accounts in the Anakin Skywalker line have screennames from the same set of verses. Related Characters: Anakin Skywalker (stay-awake) (wiki). She is a later version of Anakin in a different phase. Also known as "Force Ghost Anakin". Ani (figure-it-out) (wiki). She is a later version of Anakin in a different phase. Also known as "redeemed Darth Vader" Darth Vader (swallows-my-pain) (wiki). She is a later version of Anakin in a different phase. Development History She originally was made for and introduced in the "one girl revolution" subcontinuity of Fulmination, a Star Wars rewrite by Decima and Diaeresis. A precursor of Anakin was Ebele Agwo, an Old Republic Jedi initially created to be shipped with Darth Occlus. Both attempts to ship them failed, and it was noted that Ebele would've gotten along better with a Jedi version of Ellie. However, Ellie wouldn't be a Jedi if Sith were an option - so the idea of alting Ellie and the Decima template group into the Star Wars prequels was born. (Ironically, a post-OT version of Anakin Skywalker ended up being shipped with Occlus, bringing the template history full circle.) Backstory Anakin is invariably a slave throughout her childhood. She's born to Shmi Skywalker, a woman from a family that's been enslaved for as long as she knows. When Anakin is a toddler, she and her mother are sold to Gardulla the Hutt, a vicious slave trader from the planet Tatooine who delights in tormenting her slaves. One relevant torment is that children she doesn't think will grow up to any other profitable use are trapped in a large 'garden' full of other such children - and starved, dangerous predators. Gardulla finds the childrens' attempts to survive amusing, and after Anakin displays an unruly personality, Anakin herself is condemned to this garden. Anakin develops the ability to hide herself in the Force and to manipulate the minds of others at a very young age, purely out of self preservation. She escapes from the garden, rejoining her mother and staying beside Shmi as Shmi's services as a domestic slave are rented out beyond Gardulla's compound. Anakin develops a plan to kill all of Tatooine's slavers - especially Gardulla - and free as many slaves as she can. This succeeds, if nothing interrupts her, and she tends to become a Jedi after her escape from Gardulla (one way or another). Narrative Arcs Anakin tends to struggle fairly intensely with her place in the galaxy. She's invariably immensely fond of her Jedi Master - but many of the facets of the Jedi Order chafe at her. She feels love extremely deeply, and she can end up torn between 'love' and 'duty.' Anakin also tends to struggle with questions of freedom and complicity in slavery, as well as questions of peace versus violence. Her world, unless disrupted, proceeds through the overarching plot of the Star Wars prequels - the invasion of Naboo around the time Anakin becomes a Jedi Padawan, the outbreak of the Clone Wars, and the fall of the Republic leading to the destruction of the Jedi Order and the rise of the Empire. Anakin loathes being a soldier, especially as a general of an army she sees as composed of slaves - an army she often must lead to their deaths. She pushes hard for freedom, often finding herself pulled deeper into helplessness and fear. Palpatine, the Sith Lord and future Emperor, throws fuel on this fire, manipulating Anakin's great capacity for love and pushing her into ever more stressful situations until she breaks, becoming Darth Vader. Powers and Abilities Anakin is powerful in and talented with the Force, the magic system native to the Star Wars universe. She can hide herself from others' perception rather adeptly, and this is the first real talent she learns. She has frequent visions, especially of events yet to come, and she's skilled at discerning what actions she needs to take to reach a desired outcome.

We know it has been a tough time for many people as the COVID-19 pandemic has struck and fundamentally altered everyone’s lives. Our school lives have been changed by the pandemic, with many of us working hard at home to ensure we stay on top of the work that we’ve been set. Over the past few weeks, Year 10 and Year 12 students have been returning to school and it has been great to see our school community back and stronger than ever. Although it’s been strange, the staff at school have been incredible in ensuring that we can all be safe and continue our learning, even in these Georgia was a previous student at Benton Park and now attends St. Andrews University circumstances. As the summer holidays begin, we hope that you enjoy yourself and take a well-deserved break from the challenging past few months. Although it may not be the summer that we were all hoping for, it’s important to take a break for yourself, away from Benton to St. Andrews school and homework. Now that lockdown restrictions are easing, we hope that you will be able to see your friends and family in a safe environment. He stocks all manner of goods that a being could use on a hardscrabble planet such as Tatooine. While he handles the bookkeeping, purchasing and the like, the Human employs a Jawa as his mechanic and clerk. What Trallig doesn't know is that Dibs Nkik has his own aspirations as an information broker; he reprograms the droids that his kinfolk bring to sell, giving them instructions to transmit any useful information to him. In this way he intends to learn the secrets of those who do business with him, and then to sell those tidbits to interested (and paying) parties. The Store The building itself is a simple pourstone structure, about a story and a half in height.

Edition 1.11 – 25 May 2005 THE DARTH SIDE: MEMOIRS OF A MONSTER • Cheeseburger Brown A New Hope It is a period of civil war. Guerrilla spaceships striking from a hidden base have won a narrow victory against our loyal Imperial forces, inflicting heavy losses in terms of casualties and, worse, the galactic peace. During the battle insurgent spies managed to steal secret plans to our ultimate weapon and the brainchild of Tarkin’s dream, the DEATH STAR, an armoured space station with enough firepower to destroy an entire planet. The whole thing has given me a massive headache. Moff Nur has been killed, a wound in my life for which I shall never forgive the traitorous Rebel Alliance. Nur has been my closest confidant outside of my master for years, and I will feel his loss keenly. Our long conversations have always helped me clarify matters, though he was no mentor -- rather, a friend. Nur never told me what to think. He showed me how to find the answers myself. I wish I could seek his counsel now. The last time we spoke, right before the battle, he made a suggestion I admit I considered absurd.

    17. The Kiss Goodnight from a Galaxy Far, Far Away Experiencing Star Wars as a Fan-Scholar on Disney Property Heather Urbanski While scholars have examined what can be labeled transmedia tourism or destination fandom in relation to texts such as the BBC’s Sherlock and Twilight,1 satisfying the fan impulse to visit the galaxy far, far away is more complicated. Star Tours, the franchise’s signature attraction at the Disney Parks, has embodied experiential fandom since 1987, with its spaceport terminal queue area and exhibit narrative of a thriving space tourism company. Tied into Disney’s relaunch of the Star Wars franchise with The Force Awakens, the Disney Parks have kicked into high gear to expand opportunities for guests to experience the saga, particularly at Hollywood Studios in Orlando. Disney Parks are not the only venues creating Star Wars experiences. In her analysis of original qualitative data gathered from fan-attendees at two London-based Star Wars “immersive attractions,” Emma Pett highlights that “the appeal of event-led cinema and interactive media is cross-generational and demographically diverse—and perhaps more closely linked to estab- lished fan loyalties than to the appeal of the immersive experience in and of itself.”2 Pett discusses, for example, Secret Cinema’s staging of The Empire Strikes Back, which included a nightclub replica of the Mos Eisley cantina where attendees were assigned identities and missions, and interacted freely with costumed character actors. Pett describes the event as one “designed to downplay the mainstream branding of the franchise, and accentuate, 1 See, for example, Stijn Reijnders, “Stalking the Count: Dracula, Fandom, and Tourism,” Annals of Tourism Research 38 (2011); Christine Lundberg and Maria Lexhagen, “Bitten by the Twilight Saga,” in Contemporary Tourist Experience: Concepts and Consequences, ed.

CROSSING THE AETHER-NET: COMMUNITY AND THE THEATRE OF TEAM STARKID Sarah Coon A Thesis Submitted to the Graduate College of Bowling Green State University in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of MASTER OF ARTS May 2015 Committee: Bradford Clark, Advisor Jonathan Chambers © 2015 Sarah Coon All Rights Reserved iii ABSTRACT Bradford Clark, Advisor Communication technologies have changed the way human beings interact. Notably, our understanding of what constitutes a community has shifted from a geographic one to a spiritual one. This shift begins to question the liveness and presence that are believed to be at the heart of performance’s ontology. If we no longer need to share a physical space with our community, does our performance need to share a space with its audience? The group Team StarKid is creating work that is designed and distributed with an Internet audience in mind, and its success speaks to the growing demand for work integrated with technology. In this study I examine the work of Team StarKid through the lens of community theatre, looking at the ways features of community theatre such as audience engagement and a connection to the community have been filtered through the Internet age. This study includes looking at the work through the lenses of both media studies a la Marshall McLuhan, as well as the participatory cultures of Henry Jenkins. Data was found through StarKid’s work, performance reviews, and interviews from the cast. The group’s use of social media as a way of connecting with their fans also prompted the use of social media for data collection: fans were interviewed about the group using Twitter.

The series is dedicated to publishing the highest-quality monographs (and exceptional edited collections) on the developing social, cultural, and economic practices surrounding media convergence and audience participation. The term ‘media convergence’ relates to the complex ways in which the production, distribution, and consumption of contemporary media are affected by digitization, while ‘participatory culture’ refers to the changing relationship between media producers and their audiences. Interdisciplinary by its very definition, the series will provide a publishing platform for international scholars doing new and critical research in relevant fields. While the main focus will be on contemporary media culture, the series is also open to research that focuses on the historical forebears of digital convergence culture, including histories of fandom, cross- and transmedia franchises, reception studies and audience ethnographies, and critical approaches to the culture industry and commodity culture.

  • Star Wars: Rise and Fall of Darth Vader
Star Wars The Rise and Fall of Darth Vader by Ryder Windham getting: Basilews Scan/OCR : Gilad uploaded : 17.VI.2008 ############################################################################### PROLOGUE Darth Vader, the Dark Lord of the Sith, was dreaming. In his dream, he saw his own dark form standing upon the open terrace that clung to the curved outer wall of Bast Castle, his private fortress on the planet Vjun. Freezing acidic rain pelted his helmet, and high winds tore at his black cloak with incredible fury, as if the weather itself was doing its best to kill him along with anything else that attempted to live on the barren world. And yet Vader felt more alive than he had in years. Turning from the balcony, he entered a vaulted doorway, leaving a trail of wet bootprints on the corridor floor. The walls were lined with automated heating vents that dried his garments as he strode to the dimly illuminated observatory. Although few had ever treaded within his fortress, he was not surprised to find the young man who stood at the center of the domed-ceiling chamber. The young man was Luke Skywalker. Clad in form-fitting black clothes, Luke had his back to Vader as he examined a three-dimensional star map that was suspended in the air above a holoprojector. Vader recognized the map as the Corascant Sector. Luke's arms hung at his sides, and Vader noticed that Luke's right hand, clad in a black glove, was almost touching the light-saber clipped to his belt. A new lightsaber, Vader thought. And a new hand.
