Parish Assembly All residents of Warfield are warmly invited to attend our annual Parish Assembly on Wednesday 3 May, starting 7.45pm in Whitegrove Community Centre where they can learn more about the work of the Parish Council and discuss local issues. Two awards will also be presented; the Warfield Award and the Chairman’s Award, these being presented annually to an individual/couple and to a group respectively who have made a contribution to the local community. Refreshments will be available afterwards. We look forward to seeing you there!

Vegetable Take & Grow – Sunday 7 May Calling all ‘grow your own’ residents! Our popular Vegetable Take & Grow event will take place on Sunday 7 May, 11.30am – 1 pm in Whitegrove Community Centre. Come along to collect some free vegetable and herb seedlings, and seeds to help you ‘grow your own’. Experienced gardeners will be on hand to give advice. Activities for children include ‘Feel the Vegetable’ Competition, Design a Plant Label, and Plant a Sunflower Seed, which can then be entered into the Warfield Tallest Sunflower Competition. Details of the Warfield Annual Gardening Competition will also be launched at this event. We would still welcome donations of seeds before the event. If you have any spare seeds you can drop them off into the Parish Office or bring them along on the day.

Spring is in the Air! The trees and bulbs are starting to bloom so why not take a walk around Warfield’s beautiful country lanes and see what the area has to offer. Details of local walks can be found at the Parish Office along with copies of the Bracknell Forest ‘Great Places for Circular Walks’ brochure. A great guide for enjoying local nature.

Winkfield & Warfield Family Cycle Ride Sunday 25th June – can you help? The date for the annual Family Cycle Ride has been confirmed as Sunday 25th June so make sure you save the date for this 10 mile circular ride around the roads and beautiful country lanes of Winkfield and Warfield. Look out for more details regarding registration for the ride in later issues of The Word. In the meantime we are keen to hear from anyone who could spare some time to volunteer and help with marshalling around the course; please contact the Parish Office if you are able to help.

Parish/Borough Councillor Surgeries The Parish Council holds monthly surgeries in the Parish Office to enable residents to discuss their issues with Parish and local Borough Councillors. The next surgeries are on Saturday 1 April, 10am – 12 noon and Saturday 6 May, 10am – 12 noon. No need to book – just pop in at a time to suit.
