We pray for peace in the world , remembering the people of Afghanistan , and for all places where there is civil unrest , especially Syria . We pray for the people of East Africa , suffering from the severe drought there. In this diocese we pray for the Parish of Fairwater and Rev Colin Sutton . We pray for the clergy who minister in this parish , our Vicar, Rev Stewart Lisk, and the retired clergy who assist him, especially Rev John Woodward and Rev Vernon Hodgson. We pray for the sick and those who care for them, especially Fr Ken Martin, Sue Oxenham and Beryl Powell . We pray for the repose of the souls of the departed, especially David Chick , who died this week, also Margaret Shepherd , whose anniversary occurs at this time.
