HANDBOOK 2019 BRADFORD & DISTRICT RABBITS GOLF ASSOCIATION The following is an extract from the MINUTES of the inaugural Meeting of the new ASSOCIATION, which was referred to as THE BRADFORD & DISTRICT RABBITS GOLF ASSOCIATION dated 9th April 1948. “Invitations to attend this Meeting had been sent out by a small Committee of the Bradford Moor Golf Club, and the response was very encouraging. There was an attendance of 28 and eleven Clubs were represented as follows:- South Bradford, Bradford Moor, Otley, Cleckheaton, West Bowling, Woodhall Hills, Queensbury, Thornton, East Bierley, West Bradford and Phoenix Park. The Chair was taken by Sam Chippendale Esq. of Bradford Moor Golf Club and he extended a hearty welcome to all the visitors”. There followed a discussion: “Mr Chippendale was asked whether the Association would have the support of the West Riding Rabbits Golf Association as it was felt that such support and approval would be necessary if both Associations were to prosper. The Chairman said that he had the goodwill of the West Riding Rabbits but assured those present that our Association would be a separate entity from that body and would only be affiliated to it. Thereupon a proposal was made by the Cleckheaton Representative, and seconded by the South Bradford Representative that “The Bradford & District Rabbits Golf Association” be, and is hereby formed, and this was carried without opposition. It was agreed by Members of the Association that an ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING of the Association would be held at a suitable venue on April 30th 1948.” THE BRADFORD & DISTRICT RABBITS GOLF ASSOCIATION CONSTITUTION AND RULES The name of the Association shall be “The Bradford & District Rabbits Golf Association“, affiliated to the Yorkshire Rabbit Golf Association.

The second year of our lease in Bingley has gone smoothly and following repairs to the roof and building we launched our youth club in February 2014. The building is still in need of further repairs before the winter months but we feel that it meets the needs of our charity very well. FUNDING 2013 TO 2014 A total of £75272 from Big Lottery Fund, £19244 from your donations, fees and activities, £57917 from grants, and £25646 from training brings our funding for the last financial year to approximately £180000.

SUMMARY 1.1 This report summarises the activities of Shipley and Bingley Voluntary Services and how they are contributing to addressing priorities within ward plans in the Shipley Area. 2. BACKGROUND 2.1 Shipley and Bingley Voluntary Services was formed in May 2008 when Bingley Voluntary Action merged with Shipley Council for Voluntary Service. Both organisations had been in existence for over 25 years. 2.2 Appendix A gives a summary of the activities of SBVS during 2014/15. 2.3 Appendix B shows the development and support activities for voluntary and community groups in the Shipley area. 3. OTHER CONSIDERATIONS 3.1 No considerations. 4. FINANCIAL & RESOURCE APPRAISAL 4.1 The funding for the voluntary and community sector development and support comes from two commissions from the Council: firstly, the VOSO contract through the Neighbourhood Service, and secondly, as part of the BISON consortium, co-ordinated by Bradford CVS. 5. RISK MANAGEMENT AND GOVERNANCE ISSUES 5.1 No significant risks. 6. LEGAL APPRAISAL 6.1 There are no legal implications arising from this report.

    June 2011 Number 237 MELTHAM GOLF CLUB BULLETIN Captains News Can you play too much golf? I played my first round of the Carr Bowl on Thursday the 28th of April against John Steel, a member I have not had the pleasure of playing with before (another good reason to enter the KO comps). We finished on the fourteenth then I dashed back to catch the last hour of the first Social Committee meeting of the year, chaired by the Captain Elect Adrian Ashworth and diligently minuted by Dr Sue Whittaker. For the Bank Holiday weekend I went up to Scotland (managed to miss the Royal Wedding) with Paul Sykes and Steve Hanley from Meltham, Major Tim Dyson from ”Royal” Longley Park, an ex Marsden member and a slim lad from Woodsome. On Friday we played 18 holes at Stirling GC, it has spectacular views of Stirling Castle which is like Castle Hill but bigger, in the evening we went out for a few beers, as you do. Saturday morning we played 9 holes at Alva GC with only 3 clubs and a putter. I chose a rescue club, an 8 iron and a gap wedge (I don`t know why either). At least I finished with the same ball. On Saturday afternoon we played 18 holes at Alloa GC where for an extra £12 we had soup and bacon sandwiches for lunch with the option of a high tea after we had finished our round. We northern boys chose the pie, chips and gravy option followed by apple pie, cream and ice cream, and washed down with Carling Extra Cold.
