ITINERARY DAY 1: ARRIVAL INTO JAIPUR Pick up from Airport/Station, and transfer to the hotel. On reaching, Check-in to the Hotel. Evening at leisure where you can enjoy various amenities offered from hotel, or can take a leisure stroll in busy yet vibrant market streets. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel. DAY 2: JAIPUR Start the day with Breakfast. Later proceed for city tour of this famous capital of Rajasthan. Visit Amber Fort, where you can enjoy elephant ride to the top. Later continue to visit Jaigarh Fort. On way back to Jaipur visit Jal Mahal. Post Lunch in afternoon sightseeing continues to Jantar Mantar, CityPalace, & Hawa Mahal. Dinner and Overnight at the Hotel DAY 03: JAIPUR – JODHPUR (336 KM / 6 HRS) After breakfast transfer to Jodhpur. On arrival check-in to your hotel. Evening at leisure or you can visit local markets for shopping authentic Jodhpuri handicrafts. Some famous market are Ghanta Ghar(clock tower), Nai Sadak, Sojati Gate, & Mochi Bazaar . Dinner and Overnight at stay at the Hotel. DAY 04: JODHPUR After breakfast start for Jodhpur city tour. Covering Umaid Bhawan Palace Museum, Mehrangarh Fort- situated on a low sandstone hill. Within the fort visit Moti Mahal and Phool Mahal. Also visit Jaswant Thada - an imposing marble cenotaph built in memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II around 1899, Kaylana Lake and Mandore Garden. Evening free for leisure. Overnight stay at Jodhpur. DAY 05: JODHPUR – UDAIPUR VIA RANAKPUR (260 KM / 4 HRS) After breakfast transfer to Udaipur. Enroute visit Ranakpur Chaumukha Temple built in 1439. This marble temple has 29 halls supported by 1444 pillars. On arrival check-in to your hotel. In the evening take a breathtaking boat tour over the picturesque Lake Pichola (at your own cost) to admire the royal buildings around the Lake and enjoy the scenic sunset view. From the lake you have a wonderful view of the City Palace stretching along the east bank, while the south bank has pleasant gardens running down to the waterside. Overnight stay at Udaipur. DAY 6: UDAIPUR After breakfast start for Udaipur city tour. Visiting Fateh Sagar, Maharana Pratap Memorial, take a photo stop at Nehru Garden, Sehelion-KI-Bari - Queen’s resort for their friends, Sukhadia Circle (Drive Pass), 2 GLORY OF RAJASTHAN 6 N / 7 D Bhartiya Lok kala Museum - a museum of folk and art, it displays a rich collection of folk dresses, ornaments, puppets, masks, dolls. After that visit City Palace – The largest palace complex of Rajasthan, Jagdish Temple – built by Maharana Jagat Singh and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu & Gulab Bagh. Overnight stay at Udaipur. The drought of the year 2002 is unique and severest drought of the country in the sense that all the scientific and traditional predictions failed miserably. The region received only < 30 % of the mean annual rainfall in one or two spells of 10-20 rom each. This was insufficient for sowing of the kharif crops. Regeneration of grasses and has resulted in acute shortage of drinking water for human and livestock. Migration of livestock has started to the adjoining states, but the problem is compounded by insufficient or inordinate delayed rains in neighboring states. A contingency planning for kharifas well as for rabi crops was immediately rerquired particularly for arid regIOn. Since its inception, CAZRI has been engaged in developing technologies for drought proofing in the arid region. Techniques for wind erosion control, in situ moisture conservation, integrated nutrient and pest management, fanning systems involving agro~ forestry, agro-horticulture and silvi-pastoral have been evolved. Drought~tolerant genotypes of crops and perennial species have also been identified. The NATP programmes under Arid Agro-ecosystem is a forward step to strengthen the drought proofing of the arid region In order to consider suitable Sh011, medium and long-term strategies to combat droughts in the region, a brainstorming session on "Drought management: Contingency plaJll1ing" was organised by CAZRI on August, 20 and 21,2002.

The entire study is based on secondarysources of data. The growth and development of Udaipur city have been discussed in terms of expansion of the city limits from walled city to the present municipal boundary over the two periods of times i.e. pre-independence and post-independence period. However, the trends land use of the city has been examined for four periods of times from 1971 to 2011 and pattern of land use of the city has been analyzed for 2011. The study reveals that there is significant rise in land use in the categories of residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, entertainment, public and semi-public, circulation, the government reserved, agriculture, forest, water bodies, other open areas. Introduction Jodhpur district is located between 26°00' and 27°37' N latitude and 72°55' and 73°52' E longitude and lies in the western part of Rajasthan. The district Jodhpur experiences arid to semi arid type of climate. The major part of the district covers desolate and dreary region and form an important part of the Great Indian Desert. The area of this region is characterized by various type of shifting and stabilizing sand dunes, alluvial area dotted with few hillocks and scattered hill chains. Kaylana Lake is situated about 8 km in the west of Jodhpur city. It lies at 26°29' N latitude and 72°96' E longitude. The depth of this lake varies from 5 feet to 50 feet with maximum towards south-west, and it has a capacity of 191 mcft.
