What an awful time it’s been for all us Film Theatre fans. But, as sad as it’s been, it’s given our Film Theatre family an overwhelming passion to see Leiston’s historic cinema recover and establish itself once again, as the prestigious venue it has become in recent years and return to the success it was enjoying, prior to lockdown. With all staff , except me, furloughed, I was able to keep an eye on things at the Film Theatre to not only keep an eye on the building, but also to create a marketing campaign for when our reopening would become a reality, to maintain the various projection equipment and to prepare the various safety procedures, to ensure that everything was in place, so that the staff and customers can use the venue, knowing it’s as safe as can possibly be. The feedback, thus far, has indicated that these efforts have enabled our patrons to visit us in confidence. You can find our reopening information on the Film Theatre website at: www.leistonfilmtheatre.co.uk As we thankfully reopen and turn our attention to the mammoth task of recovery, more films have been stripped from the national release slate, leaving us with a few weeks to screen popular film releases and big screen blockbusters, which I hope you will support and enjoy seeing back on the big screen there really is nothing quite like it and how lucky we are to have it right on our doorstep.
