Nicola Ludwig and Doug Callahan’s help and assistance leading up to, and during the festival has been invaluable, thank you. Kate Mossman for co-ordinating the judges and the Gisborne Gymnastics Club, especially Maria Phillips, for co- ordinating Recall Evening. Many thanks to all the schools, teachers, parents, coaches and all the enthusiastic gymnasts in the festival. Everyone has put in a lot of hard work to get the routines together. General Information • Please inform parents in your newsletter that there is a $2 entry fee for spectators, kids are free. There is also a $2 cover charge for those wanting to attend the display on Wednesday evening starting at 5.30pm. • All SCORECARDS at the completion of each session are to be handed to the ‘Competition officials area’ . PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT TAKE THESE HOME. • All gymnasts must have scorecards correctly filled in before moving onto the floor area, SEPARATE CARDS FOR BOYS AND GIRLS! All names to be printed on the front of the scorecard only – NAME, SURNAME & SCHOOL! • Gymnasts assemble 30 minutes prior to scheduled start time in the warm up area. Do not move into the competition area until called for. Competition reserves the right to bring the programme forward 15 minutes. • Each School has been given Name badges/tags , please ensure the authorised representatives/coaches from your school are wearing these. PLEASE WRITE NAME AND SCHOOL ON THE TAG PROVIDED. If you are not wearing your name tag you will not be authorised to be in the competition area. • Warm up facilities are available one hour before session begins. COACHES MUST BE IN ATTENDANCE. • NO WARM UPS IN THE COMPETITION AREA (apart from A Grade vault). • A and B Grade Vault - 2 attempts, best mark recorded. All vaults should be spotted. • C Grade Competitors complete all 4 apparatus –Bar, Beam, Floor and Vault. • A Res, B Grade Girls – Compulsory Floor, Beam, Vault. • A Res, B Grade Boys – Compulsory Floor, Bar, Vault. All grades to be marked out of ten. • A Grade Girls – Vol Floor, Vol Beam, Vault. Music required for Floor no words, one routine per disc or tape (music to be cued ready). • Please ensure all music is clearly marked with school name and name of student, cued to push play. • A Grade Boys—Vol Floor, Bar, Vault • Certificates will be awarded for 1 st , 2 nd and 3 rd in A & B grades. Each participant will gain a certificate of participation. Those students recalled to the display evening will gain an additional certificate also. • Overall 1 st , 2 nd , 3 rd Teams will be awarded a certificate. • The C grade will be marked A, B, C etc. • All students invited to the recall evening - names will be posted at the entrance/exit area of the Gym Club. Please notify an Event official if your students are unable to attend. Schools are asked to hand in the Recall Nomination Form to their group leader before leaving the ElectriNET Sports Centre. It appeared in that section of the 1970 report. Populus deltoides 'Virginiana', Necklace Poplar. Frimley Park, Hastings. Dbh 262 cm, height 44.3 m, with a clear trunk to 9 m, in 1974. Planted c.1874. This is the largest known deciduous tree in New Zealand and one of the largest poplars in the world. Growth appears to be declining as since 1969 diameter has increased by only 4 cm and there has been little if any·height growth.
