ABOUT SIES THE SOUTH INDIAN EDUCATION SOCIETY (SIES) is one of the oldest educational societies in Mumbai and was pioneered in 1932. The Society strives towards excellence in all its pursuits and believes in strict discipline. It was established in September 1998, as a Commerce College and is affiliated to the University of Mumbai. The College has entered its Twenty First year in June 2019 and has been attracting students from far and near. The College added Science (Computer Science, Information Technology and Environmental Science) and Arts faculty (Mass Media) in the year 2001 and 2002 respectively and was renamed as SIES (Nerul) College of Arts, Science and Commerce. The College has a Junior College of Commerce attached to it. The vision of the College is to see that the students become either entrepreneurs or employable in the competitive world. The differently abled, underprivileged are all given equal status. The College has been accredited with 'A' grade by the NAAC and also ISO 9001-2015 certified. The culture at SIESASCN is to continuously reset standards to a higher level to ensure increased productivity. The College is proud of its alumni who have excelled in diverse fields. By creating the right synergy between all the stakeholders, the College aspires to scale greater heights in the years to come. It gives them a chance to enhance their abilities and explore new ways of doing things. I wish them all the best in all their future endeavours. END EAVOURS FROM VICE PRINCIPAL SIESONS represents the season of joy and laughter in our college. Every year, SIESONS involves a new theme and this year SIESONS with their theme of Aashayein aptly conveys the hope and aspirations of our students. Dr. Koel Roy Chaudhary ENDEAVOURS FROM REGISTRAR Mr.Muralikrishnan Nambiar I am elated to know that the SIESONS committee is bringing out the first issue of its magazine, "SIESONS" during this academic year 2019-20. In addition to the numerous achievements of the students, this is yet another milestone in their curricular and co-curricular activities. Those days when college life was only about academics, and students focused on attending lectures and writing exams are gone. In the recent times, to engage students and prepare them for the real world, College fest like SIESONS is organized College fest brings students together to create an unforgettable experience and create magic on and off the stage SIESONS is a platform where the students can express themselves and showcase their talents and dazzle of performing arts, column of fine arts, wisdom of literary arts and stamina of crossover. SIESONS has grown to become the most popular college fest in Navi Mumbai in the past 20 years. I hope that this magazine SIESONS will enrich creative talents of students of the Institute and will be a forum which will be used for recording events, fond memories and creative writing. On this occasion, congratulations to the editorial team for their determined efforts in bringing out this magazine; I convey my good wishes to the SIESONS Committee for their endeavours and wish them all happiness in their lives. PRIYADARSINI PODDAR EDITOR IN CHIEF (MAJESTIC), CONVENOR SIESONS 2020 (HEAD OF STUDENT COUNCIL 19-20) On behalf of this great institution, SIES (Nerul) College of Arts, Science and Commerce and the wonderful people who are part of it, I want to extend our warmest greetings and welcome those from near and far to a tour of Our Annual Fest, SIESONS, breathing through the essence of the captured moments for the first time in the history of SIESONS in the form of magazine “Majestic” . In what seems like a blink of an eye from the last SIESONS to this, SIESONS offers the perfect opportunity for everyone to experience the very best of SIESASCN’s unique culture. Great music, delicious food, beautiful art, creative excellence, innovative performances and events graced by students across Mumbai and Navi Mumbai Colleges and allows all to soak in our rich history and the magazine retains the memories forever. During this fest we have an opportunity to showcase not only the eclectic mix of cultures and backgrounds but also a great sense of Community Social Service and Environmental Awareness program that is a hallmark of SIES, Navi Mumbai. In addition, like every year, this time we have the stellar line-up of musical artists DJ NINA SUERTE, SALIM-SULAIMAN LIVE and THE LOCAL TRAIN, INDI-POP BAND PERFORMANCE. Along with fun and frolic, the SIESONS team proved their sincere and responsible role through pre-events activities as citizen of India and students of SIESASCN by organizing Road Safety Seminar and Bike Rally in association with Mumbai Police, SIESONS 2020 also took an initiative of saving trees by tying placards to all the trees within the campus. It also organized Leadership program for students. SIESONS 2020 also collaborated with Feeding India to take an action for hunger free streets by feeding more than a hundred children Ray of Hope Centre in Turbhe area. The Theme Release of SIESONS 2020, was graced by the eminent presence of popular Anti Hero of Bollywood, Shri. Gopal Bedi (popularly known as Ranjeet). In a span of two months SIESONS 2020 already witnessed ten big events and many more to come. As Chief Editor of SIESONS’ Magazine, “Majestic”, I truly appreciate the dedicated first time ever the team of SIESONS’ 19-20 magazine “The Majestic” in translating the ideas into reality and my heartfelt thanks to SIES Management in supporting us. As Convenor of SIESONS 19-20 and Head of Student Council 19-20 my duties are ongoing throughout the year. They include overseeing an Executive Committee, teaching staff, an enthusiastic and ever energetic bunch of students, who all devote themselves unselfishly to make this event happen. No event of this magnitude can be accomplished without teamwork, and our team is one that makes every working day a pleasure. A big shout to every one of you, our very own honourable Principal Sir, respectable Vice-Principal Madam, respectable Registrar Sir, my dear General Secretary, Joint General Secretary, Core Team, Magazine making team, teaching and non-teaching faculties, by that I truly mean Every One of you regardless of the magnitude of your contribution - big, small or insignificant, it matters. Every year the fest has collectively achieved new heights, in form of innovation, participation, popularity, enhanced personality and leadership. This year with the theme "Aashayein- hauslo ki udaan" SIESONS hope to reach new scale by organizing more number of events in literary arts, fine arts, performing arts and crossover etc. This year, the reach of SIESONS has extended from college students to society at large. Various social initiatives related to environment, road safety and breast cancer awareness campaigns were organized by volunteers of SIESONS.
