Press release for Handi-Art 2021

In September, Næstved Cultural Association once again opens the doors to the international art fair Handi-Art. The fair takes place in Det Gamle Ridehus on Grønnegade 10 in Næstved and is open to the public from and including Wednesday the 1st to and including Friday the 3rd of September from 10:00-17:00. At this fair, all interested parties can immerse themselves in exciting outsider art created by artists with physical or mental disabilities. Here there is no filter, and the audience is drawn into a hard-to-reach world, where strong emotions, creativity and fellowship go hand in hand. As a viewer, you are guaranteed a raw and brutally honest art experience as well as an insight into what it is like to live with a disability. This year, Handi-Art will be held in close collaboration with kultKIT, which works to promote Danish-German collaboration across national borders. With kultKIT as the main sponsor, we can proudly present as many as 11 artists from Lübeck in Germany. In addition, you can experience art from Poland and Norway and of course from . A wide range of works of art are waiting to be discovered, and we hope to see you on Grønnegade 10 for an art experience that will undoubtedly inspire and boost the imagination. Come and have a chat with our artists and let yourself be seduced by everything from colorful brushstrokes to sensual honesty. The vernissage will take place on Wednesday 11:00-13:00, where Jeppe Cecil Pers - project manager for the Interreg project kultKIT: Danish-German collaboration - will give the opening speech and cut the ribbon. Closing ceremony and presentation of prizes will take place on Friday the 3rd of September at 16:00-17:00.
