ACI MANUAL DE PROCEDIMENTOS Revisão n.º 01-14 Data: set.2014 Princípios Gerais A Área de Comunicação e Imagem (ACI) tem como missão promover a imagem institucional do Instituto Superior Técnico (Técnico), assegurar a sua divulgação no exterior e implementar uma política de comunicação interna, incorporando um Gabinete e dois Núcleos: 1. Gabinete de Comunicação e Relações Públicas (GCRP); 2. Núcleo de Gestão do Museu e Centro de Congressos (NGMCC); 3. Núcleo de Apoio ao Estudante (NAPE). A realização deste volume advém da necessidade de esclarecer questões relacionadas com os procedimentos a executar e regras a ter em consideração na Área de Comunicação e Imagem (ACI) e, de um modo mais lato, nos Núcleos e Gabinete que a ela pertencem, nas suas diferentes competências. Serve ainda como divulgação do trabalho efetuado ou para consulta. A Área de Comunicação e Imagem é dirigida por um coordenador de área, cargo de direção intermédia de 2.º grau, equiparado para todos os efeitos legais a Chefe de Divisão, ou por um Técnico superior, que reporta hierarquicamente ao Vice-Presidente do Conselho de Gestão, responsável pela Comunicação e Imagem do Técnico. O Gabinete de Comunicação e Relações Públicas tem por missão prestar o apoio necessário à promoção das atividades desenvolvidas no Técnico, através da criação e manutenção de canais de comunicação que facilitem a sua divulgação. O GCRP tem como objetivos gerais a promoção e divulgação da imagem do Técnico e é dirigido por um coordenador equiparado, para todos os efeitos legais, a cargo de direção intermédia de 4.º grau ou por um Técnico superior, que reporta hierarquicamente ao coordenador de área respetivo. Ao Núcleo de Gestão do Museu e Centro de Congressos compete, em termos gerais, assegurar e preservar o acervo do Técnico e promover a realização de eventos de carácter científico.     "Disco Madness: Walter Gibbons and the Legacy of Turntablism and Remixology" Tim Lawrence Journal of Popular Music Studies, 20, 3, 2008, 276-329 This story begins with a skinny white DJ mixing between the breaks of obscure Motown records with the ambidextrous intensity of an octopus on speed. It closes with the same man, debilitated and virtually blind, fumbling for gospel records as he spins up eternal hope in a fading dusk. In between Walter Gibbons worked as a cutting-edge discotheque DJ and remixer who, thanks to his pioneering reel-to-reel edits and contribution to the development of the twelve-inch single, revealed the immanent synergy that ran between the dance floor, the DJ booth and the recording studio. Gibbons started to mix between the breaks of disco and funk records around the same time DJ Kool Herc began to test the technique in the Bronx, and the disco spinner was as technically precise as Grandmaster Flash, even if the spinners directed their deft handiwork to differing ends. It would make sense, then, for Gibbons to be considered alongside these and other towering figures in the pantheon of turntablism, but he died in virtual anonymity in 1994, and his groundbreaking contribution to the intersecting arts of DJing and remixology has yet to register beyond disco aficionados.1 There is nothing mysterious about Gibbons's low profile. First, he operated in a culture that has been ridiculed and reviled since the "disco sucks" backlash peaked with the symbolic detonation of 40,000 disco records in the summer of 1979.

    Rock and Roll has Tender Moments too... ! Photographs by Chalkie Davies 1973-1988 ! For as long as I can remember people have suggested that I write a book, citing both my exploits in Rock and Roll from 1973-1988 and my story telling abilities. After all, with my position as staff photographer on the NME and later The Face and Arena, I collected pop stars like others collected stamps, I was not happy until I had photographed everyone who interested me. However, given that the access I had to my friends and clients was often unlimited and 24/7 I did not feel it was fair to them that I should write it all down. I refused all offers. Then in 2010 I was approached by the National Museum of Wales, they wanted to put on a retrospective of my work, this gave me a special opportunity. In 1988 I gave up Rock and Roll, I no longer enjoyed the music and, quite simply, too many of my friends had died, I feared I might be next. So I put all of my negatives into storage at a friends Studio and decided that maybe 25 years later the images you see here might be of some cultural significance, that they might be seen as more than just pictures of Rock Stars, Pop Bands and Punks. That they even might be worthy of a Museum. So when the Museum approached me three years ago with the idea of a large six month Retrospective in 2015 I agreed, and thought of doing the usual thing and making a Catalogue.

While the punk subculture has been analyzed in-depth by such notable theorists as Dick Hebdige and Stuart Hall, their work has been limited to examining the rise and apparent decline of the subculture in England, rendering any further investigations into punk as looking back at a nostalgic novelty of post- World War II British milieu. Furthermore, the commodification of punk music and style has relegated punk to the realm of an alternative culture in Britain and locally in the U.S. In these current international incarnations, however, a social space for this alternative culture is threatened by severe punishment including what Indonesian police officials have label “moral rehabilitation” and, in the case of Russian punks, imprisonment.

    Genesis: Get ‘Em Out By Friday The Official Release Dates 1968-78 Introduction Depending on where one looks for the information, the original release dates of Genesis singles and albums are often misreported. This article uses several sources, including music paper cuttings, websites and books, to try and determine the most likely release date in the UK for their officially released product issued between 1968 and 1978. For a detailed analysis to be completed beyond 1978 will require the input of others that know that era far better than I with the resources to examine it in appropriate levels of detail. My own collection of source material essentially runs dry after 1978. As most people searching for release dates are likely to go to Wikipedia that is where this search for the truth behind Genesis’ back catalogie. The dates claimed on Wikipedia would themselves have come from a number of sources referenced by contributors over the years but what these references lack is the evidence to back up their claims. This article aims to either confirm or disprove these dates with the added bonus of citing where this information stems from. It’s not without a fair share of assumptions and educated deductions but it offers more on this subject than any previously published piece.
